Sanka brag

Sanka has shown vast improvement in learning to walk nice and walk on the leash and behave himself. he LOVES to walk and he keeps a good pace.
just in the last week, he has improved his need to pull, or run, or weave or trip me, or change sides.
i very rarely have to tell him '' walk nice" he just stays to the left side and its awesome. he doesnt bark at everything that moves, he doesnt feel the need to meet and greet every tree or other dog.
he's actually very quiet, and rarely barks or growls. when the other dogs bark at him he's like 'whatever. talk to the paw'
i'm impressed with his improvement, just with me, and just in the last few days.

another sanka brag, also on the same lines.
the other day he bumrushed the door and got out. since he hasnt mastered 'come' he does whatever he wants. chasing him only makes it worse and when he does come, he wont let you grab him - collar or hook him up or pet him, he just flips and runs off.
SOO when i got him close enough to me, i showed him the leash and he came right over and sat down. he associated the leash with walking ( which apparently he loves!). he let me clip him up and didnt freak out, like he used to.
i'd rather he not get out, but its nice to know i have a way to 'catch' him.

Hey, if Sanka has trouble with "Come", we have used something that works AMAZINGLY for my two Corgis.

It is called "Come Touch". Basically, you teach your dog on leash with this at the start. You hold a treat in your CLOSED fist so your dog can not see the treat, and say "Come Touch!" only one time. You should be standing near your dog with the fist near his face, and as soon as your dog touches your closed fist with his nose, you Click, Praise, and open the fist to reveal the treat to him! After a couple repetitions (Corgis are very smart), he will run to you every time he hears come touch because he always gets a delicious treat out of it! Make sure you use a treat 100% of the time with Come Touch, because it is potentially a life-saving command!

Whenever I am anywhere within hearing range of my Corgis and I say "Come Touch!", I immediately hear the roaring sound of Corgi feet racing towards me. It works every single time, distractions, food in the way, ANYTHING! It's been great for me, hopefully it works for you! =D

Oh, sorry I use a clicker paired with a treat, so I "Click" it every time they do something right and give them a treat also. That way, whenever they hear the "Click", they know they did something right.

Praise and treats works too, or even just praise sometimes. A clicker is not necessarily needed.
