A ribbon at last
Taylor competed in six events at a two day agility championship meeting indoors on a new thick rubber matted surface during last weekend.
He finished eighth against all-comers in the novice (contacts) event which had attracted 96 entrants. And for his effort he won a very large and handsome ribbon with all the data on it and a clip board monthly calender thing for daily memos in using a wipe off marking pen. Apart from the very first event (too early in the morning!), he raced very fast on that lovely springy surface and made only one error in each of four other events in which in two of them would have had him in the top four but for slightly clipping a hurdle pole both times. He will get faster yet. So I had better get back to jogging when spring time come round. |

My wife, Leigh is the photographer. So I'll have to catch her in a good moment and ask her to take a pic of Taylor with his new ribbon plus the two trophies he's won. Thanks everyone for your kind sentiments. It seems so natural now to enter into the Brag section of Go Corgi whereas once people shied away from it. But let's face it, everyone likes a good news story.
Taylor has been quick on grass but I do believe the almost Olympic Games track-type surface of the indoor stadium for his recent agility events, is a huge bonus. Everyone benefits but perhaps the little dogs who are not springy ( like Poodles are for instance) benefit the most. |
