The opposite of a brag?

Tucker participated in his first Dog Show Saturday in Rally Obedience/Novice A. Tucker HATES Obedience Class. HATES IT!!! He will however tolerate Rally.

We enter the ring, the Judge says "This is Rally Obedience Novice A, are you ready?" Tuck actually looks up at me, I say "Ready" and the Judge says "You may proceed".

Tucker takes two steps towards the first orange cone (to serpentine around 4 cones!) AND LIFTS HIS LEG!!!!!! Ughhhhhhh! DQ'd after 2 steps!

I knew we had DQ, I froze. Do I go on? Do I stop? The Judge didn't say anything so we just went on. He completed the course perfectly. Looked absolutely adorable (per friends watching) and did every station perfectly.

We finished, walked out of the ring, I picked him up and hugged him and said "I would expect nothing less"! It was Tucker being true to form.

Everyone said "he had to be nervous..." No way! it was Tucker being Tucker. It was his way of telling the Judge "you just THINK this is your ring".
He was communicatiing exactly what he thought of the whole experience.

I had walked him around and he peed, and not even 5 minutes before his turn in the ring I took him to the potty area and he wouldn't go. The little rodent!

Ahhhh, that's my boy. It's Tucker's world and we are just guests. It's been 2 days and I still can't look at him without laughing.

Classic Tucker!!!! I can't wait to read about it in his diary!!!

You are a great corgi owner Susan . . . you have a well-developed sense of humor & don't embarrass (too) easily!!

Remember in the Cardigan vs Pembroke thread MDH's enjoyment of watching that slight look of anxiety/panic of the Pembroke owners' faces before they go into the ring? Tucker just demonstrated why they have it.

A well developed sense of humor, not embarassing easily, and a big streak of humility I've found are all essential in doing anything "organized" with a corgi.

Great story Susan.

That is so funny. What makes it so bad is that he was able to do the whole course perfectly...Well, Dillon had been in a novice obedience class (studying for his CD) and was doing brilliantly. I was so proud. The center where i go was offering a CGC prep class, and based on how well he was doing in this serious obedience class, i enrolled him in the two course session that was to end up with the CGC test...well...I walked in there with him the first class, he saw one really hyper dog that the owner let jump all over dillon ( not appreciated at all by me) and that was the end. The rest of the class was beyond a disaster. I couldnt even get him to walk on a loose leash, or be greeted by a stranger without him running wild and trying to jump and lick the person. He was so bad I canceled his second class and the test for him seeing as he would never ever have made it. I couldn't help but look at him and ask him who he was, and where he put my sweet, cooperative well behaved dog. He just gave me his winning corgi grin. What made this so bad was that it was run by two of the trainers at the center who had trained with us back in the early days and who thought so much of him! He was soooo well behaved in their eyes, until they saw this travesty!
