No, none of the sheep challenged the dogs. The tester would change out to different sheep after testing a few dogs. One dog ran one of the sheep into a fence, which really is not good. This particular dog came from a rescue, and had some issues. The tester determined it didn't want to go into the corner to bring the sheep out, but instead would herd the sheep into the corner, and that's why the one ran into the fence. These sheep don't just bump into the fence, they jump right into it if they have a dog at their heels.
Another dog got very close to the sheep and got kicked, it then decided it didn't want to do it anymore. The tester worked with the dog a bit until she shook it off and went back at it. The second time, she stayed further back. So they learn from their mistakes.

Oh Emilie, I can soooo relate! I walk Tuck and Lulu on athletic fields by the schools in my town and typically there are herd of messy geese. Tuck gets a huge kick out of chasing them until squawking loudly, they fly away.

The downside of all this fun is the duck poo. Tucker always has to sample it. Lulu, who finds no real thrill chasing the geese, goes right for the poo.

But mostly they want to eat it, rarely do they roll in it. Lucky for me! I do chase them away, yell "leave it", etc to get them from the duck poo but they almost always get some.

thanks for the info - I can see why Fluffy P is excited too. I'd like to check to see if my area has a herding instinct test too!

Chloe likes to flip her toy or bone too while playing - I am going to work on that trick
