THe Wellingtom Welsh Corgi Walking Club's next event is a hour long walk/run off'-leash for the Corgis alongside a section of the Hutt River from Melling to Belmont on Sunday July 1. Following the walk, everyone not a Corgi are invited to coffee and cakes etc at the Robert House Cafe in the CBD of Lower Hutt city and located close to the Melling Bridge. The walk contains pathways that are either sealed or chip surfaces for all-weather walking. Apart from that the area is fully grassed.

Don't forget it is winter in NZ so a hour in the car, recovering from their exciting time in running around and mixing and meeting new/old friends, is no problem. At the last cafe we went to, if the weather had been warm, we would have used the chairs and tables on the outside of the cafe and our Corgis would have been ok to be with us. We only use a cafe in the winter months instead of picnics.
