Artificial sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners are often used in chewing gum, candies, diet soft drinks, baked goods, some cereal products, some brands of icecream etc. They are sometimes used in sugar-free foods and drinks as a sugar substitute. One of these major sweeteners is called XYLITOL.

Xylitol is potentially deadly for dogs.

Interestingly, artificial sweeteners can be quite harmful to humans and produce behavioural changes that are anti social. Just imagine what they might do to our Corgis and dogs in general.

You are what you eat also applies to dogs.
