SA Corgi,
You might want to check out a hip and joint food made by Breeder's Choice, the company that also makes Avoderm (or vice versa). Anyway, I got a sample bag and it is loaded with great stuff for hips and joints, plus more natural ingredients than will be found in JD. Interesting you mentioned the avocados, as that is an ingredient in Avoderm too. Now I do know of some who swear by the Bones and Raw Food diet for their dogs with joint/hip problems. Dare I say, food for thought? p) Debbie |

SA,
I dont feed a raw diet but I too know many people who do and swear by it. Feeding a diet of just raw meaty bones however doesnt met the nutritional requirements. Raw meaty bones should be like 50-60% of their diet if my memory serves me correctly, then you would add organ meat, muscle meat, veggie mush, and supplements. If it were me I would schedule a consult with exam with a holistic vet to customize a diet for your pupper. here are a few links. http://www.rawdogranch.com/ http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/in.../bc/182902.htm http://www.rawmeatybones.com/book-full.html http://www.naturespet.com/barf.html http://www.rawfed.com/myths/ http://www.doggiedietician.com/ Ok I am done flooding you with links. Good Luck !
