Could anyone please tell me if their Corgi(s) like eating raw veggies. My vet suggested raw carrots as a treat opposed to the store bought treats and I thought he was crazy, but since I have found that my Sassy loves raw carrots, celery, squash, and cauliflower. She also likes bananas and oranges.
I was just curious if this is common.

Yep, Corgis love most veges and fruits. But there is always something they don't like. Taylor doesn't like green beans - neither did my previous Corgi - and he doesn't like peas and he's not fond of bananas. My previous fellow didn't like corn or oranges or apples. But any fresh or dried fruit (other than grapes and raisins) and any fresh veges (other than onions) are excellent food for Corgis and gives their sometimes mundane meal/s a huge boost. A lot of times I lightly boil veges for serving to the family and so just share out these with Taylor. I would say that dried fruit such as apricots and figs would be marvellous for dogs as they are for humans.
Whenever I open the refrigerator Chloe is right there - ever hopeful that a carrot will miraculously "fall" out for her to eat! Our vet suggested that we give her raw veggies and she LOVES them! Green beans are among her favorites - of course that isn't saying much as she eats grass like a sheep also!
Maximus loves frozen green beans, he also eats frozen bananas, apples, lettuce, carrots in fact now that I think about it he likes every fruit and veggie that I have given him.
Why did you post not to give grapes or raisins as treats? My corgi hasn't ever refused anything, especially fruits or veggies (including grapes). ~Shelly
Too many grapes can cause renal failure in dogs - I am not sure how many
they would have to eat - but just don't feed more than a couple of grapes.
My Corgi loves apples and bananas and strawberries, but I only offer a few.

No need to be too shy giving your Corgi fruit - especially the ones they love most. However too much of acidic type fruit can be as detrimental to them as they are to humans. But then again one wouldn't give a Corgi more than the equivalent of one orange a day would they?I wrote a story on a Dalmation - and she just loved bananas and could even peel them herself. She got more than one a day.

I have found that Sassy also likes the dried fruit. So far she likes dried pineapples and dried bananas (of course she loves bananas fresh better and gets a bite or two about once a week). The dried pineapple I was not sure she should have, I gave her a piece and she loved it, but that she only gets minute amounts of.

Correctly dried fruit is better than fresh for dogs and humans. Dried apricots and figs spring to mind but I wouldn't be reticent in giving my Corgi quite a lot of dried pineapple.
The trainer at Pet Smart told us besides raisins and chocolate we should not give onion to our dogs either. All three are can kill them but l don't know in what amounts.
