I have Cory on the weight management Evo and he enjoys it. From what I have read the fat content in it is primarily from fish oil which ahs the obvious omega3 benefits. Also, I feel as though there is a bit less waste vs. the regular innova we were using before the evo.

My feeling is you can't go wrong with Evo. Give it a try with the smaller bag.

I have mixed it with his regular diet as a treat and Jinjo does love it as a treat, but I can't feed it as a diet. He can't have Poultry and High protein diets make him gain weight, I tried the TotW Fish and he gained 3lbs in two weeks eating about 1/3 less than his normal food! That on top of him already not eating a large portion as is (1/2 cup twice a day), although I've been adding mix in lately as Enda seems to have finally been his weight loss secret, he looks great now!

If you ever want to try a non poultry version, as a treat, EVO also has red meats & (new) fish formulas now. Both have zero poultry. Natura also came out with both formulas as treats, too.

You certainly can ask!

I have him on 1/2 cup twice a day.

Also, I can't take credit for naming our pooch but I can take credit for loving it! Viva the Cory Corgis!

Yes, the red meat is what I've been buying. Didn't know they came out with a fish one though, thanks for the heads up, still have some of another brand left first to finish (although, I also just bought them the Wellness soft treat bars, and the LOVE those).

Our corgis having been eating EVO for about 1 month now. We feed 1/2 cup am and 1/2 cup pm. Does anyone know the benefit of poultry formula vs. red meat formula? What's the difference between these?

It's always best to have a variety of protien sources in any dog's diet. One isn't necessarily "better" than the other, but they provide different protien sources (one being poultry, the other being red meats) for variety, so it's beneficial to rotate them every couple bags.
They also have a fish formula thats great for added variety in a rotation.

I personally always had less than perfect stools with Grissom on EVO, but for the dogs that can tolerate how rich it is, it's a wonderful food.

I had the same trouble as Linsey... Dillon found the Innova foods a bit too rich for his system , he often had very loose poops on it. the product is of a very high quallity, but i think every dog is different how they digest foods.. some dogs do great on it , others have issues... and that is the same for any food. the best thing is to try it if you like the ingredients and the quality and see how your dog does on it.
I currently have my cats on Solid Gold Indigo Moon ( grain free) and they LOVE it. We tried a few different foods and innova evo was one. One of my girls did great on it, the other seemed to be irritated by it... she got weepier than normal eyes from it ( she is a persian so her eyes are always an issue). That is why I switched them to solid gold. I also love the look of the wellness core... but not the price tag! wooo hooo is that expensive stuff! I thought evo was pricey... nope... nothing in comparison , at least in my area.

I was debating the wellness as well Dilly but I ended up going wth the Evo for price purposes. I will probably end up rotating it in eventually though because have been told so many great things.

corgipaws,
I don't know about this dog food, but I see you have a shelter kitty. We like the Evo cat food at our shelter. It's important to keep them healthy in a very stressful (for kitties) environment. We were using Innova, but it's more expensive. Note: These foods are donated by a supportive pet store. Sorry, doggy folks, for the kitty distraction.

We were wanting to try her out on Evo. She's only been home with us for two and a half weeks, so we're trying to break her of her "I only want low quality kibble" habits. We're trying to wean her onto a canned diet with hopes of her taking to a raw diet, but no luck whatsoever there.
We have her on grain free Felidae right now, and a rotation of just about every grain free can there is offered every night, which she rarely touches, but we're making baby steps!
If she keeps refusing to go raw, I want to have a rotation of EVO, CORE, and Orijen. I don't hate the Felidae, just not a huge fan of it. My husband picked it up when he was out because it was "buy one get one free" at the premium pet supply store, and it was at the stage where we were trying to just find something she would eat. The shelter had sent her home with Science diet, even though she had been eating whatever was donated to them, and she would not touch it at all. (and i don't blame her!)

haha, sorry for more kitty distraction!! Back to the Corgis!!
