Milo eats Nutro Ultra. He loves it! I occaisionally give him the canned Nutro too. Sometimes he gets Iams. Never has problems with it but Nutro is his fave. His breeder used Nutro and recommended it. Milo's favorite is Nutro with a dollop of vanilla yogurt and 2 apple slices on top.

I just switched the kids from Science Diet Lamb & Rice puppy to Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice adult.

I had planned to switch them to Nutro, anyway. But it just so happened that a Nutro rep was in PetSmart the day I was in & she ended up giving me a FREE 20 lb bag of Nutro! Sweet! Anyway, I told her I wanted to go to the Ultra, but she told me to first switch to NC - then to Ultra, so they will be more used to the formula.

If the Nutro doesn't work out, I might try Canidae.

I just bought Chip a 5 lb bag of the Natural Balance to see if he would like it. So far he still prefers the ProPlan but he is eating it. I had picked up a bag of the ProPlan beef and he started with those darn itchies again so I picked up a bag of the Natural Balance Lamb and rice - hardly no more itchies but he isn't as enthused about it either. Chip is not a heavy eater anyway. He loves the dollop of the can Natural Balance that I give him though. Awhile ago, I bought a can of that beef stew that people can eat also. Not sure of the brand but it was very expensive. It looked awful - smelled like stew but very slimey. I put it on their dog food once and they didn't seem to care much for it either so I threw it away. I will not say on this forum what it looked like but no way would I have eaten any of it either so I could hardly blame them.

We were having a difficult time finding a food that Ace would eat. We tried puppy pro plan and nutro but he really didn't take to either. He did not like the lamb and rice at all. We were since told that lamb, even though it is good for sensitive tummies, is not a very palatable flavor. Then the woman at the natural food pet store suggested we do a taste testing with Ace. She gave us several different brands of kibble. We would pick three and put some on a paper plate. Then we would watch to see which one Ace seemed to like the most. The winner would go on to round two! We finally narrowed it do to two brands - Natural Balance and Wellness super 5 puppy mix. We were rotating between the two but now have moved up to the adult Wellness super 5 mix. Ace eats it all up (and quickly I might add!) Anyway, I thought maybe Bonnie, you might want to try something like a taste testing with Chip to see what he favors.

With Cody, I rotate between 3 Natural Balance ones - Fish and Sweet Potato,
Venison and Brown Rice and Duck and Sweet Potato(because he had the itchies) Maybe Chip would like one of these Flavors - Cody seems to love all three equally. I was told by the Store that I purchased these at, that if my dog did not like any of them, I could return the unused portion with the receipt for a full refund.

That is a good idea - Thanks. They had a coupon for Natural Balance and it was only $4.99 for a 5 lb bag with coupon so I will feed it to Maybelle and get the samples of the other flavors. I didn't realize that about Lamb so that is good to know also. Chip doesn't have tummy problems - just itchies with the beef.
