Nutro Natural Choice
I switched Chip over to adult dog food a couple of weeks ago and he doesn't eat the larger kibble as well and I moisten it so I went to Petsmart tonight hoping to get it in the smaller kibble. I bought a bag of Nutro Natural Choice little bites for adults. The little bites is new. This dog food is lamb and rice and supposed to be good for their coat (maybe it will help with the itches) anyway it has 21 percent protein which I think is good and the main ingredients are lamb and rice
So I am looking for some feedback.

Dudley is on the nutro puppy food for sensitive stomachs (switched from the large breed puppy food after his last growth spurt). It seems to work very well; no loose stools or problems with him eating it.

I have Trevor on Nutro Ultra puppy food. He's been eating it for about three weeks now. The first day or two, he did get some loose stools, but at the same time, he had an upset tummy as well (I think he ate something disgusting in the yard!
) Anyhow, a couple of days later, no more loose stools. In fact, they are both firmer and smaller, just as advertised. I feed him the same amount as I did the Iams - I give him 1/2 cup dry kibble plus a couple of tablespoons of the Nutro Ultra wet food, twice a day. He seems to find the Nutro quite tasty - the bowl is clean in no time. I also bought a box of the puppy biscuits, which he likes as well. If you go on Nutro's web site, you can sign up and they will send you a coupon for a free 5lb. bag of food. They also sent me a coupon for their cat food. Hope this helps, -Debi |

We had Ace on Nutro Natural Choice lamb and rice formula. He liked it at first, then started eating less and less. (We actually started a thread about his lack of eating) Loose stool wasn't an issue with us. We just switched Ace to Natural Balance and he is eating again! We were told that lamb and rice was not a very palatable food for dogs. We thought maybe that's why Ace decided not to eat it anymore.

*~* Nutro has: Chicken Meal, Lamb Meal, Salmon Meal...has 139% more linolic acid than most brands. { Okay, I'll be the Saleswoman here...} The Ultra has lots of healthy ingredients in it. Some dog foods have wheat and/or corn which can make dogs get the "itchies"...I do not think that the Ultra has any wheat or corn in it. I...LOVE...Nutro Ultra Dog Food !! Well, my girls LOVE it..I mean. *~* Nikki

I had to switch Chip back to Purina Pro Plan for puppies and mix it with the Purina One for adults. He lost weight on the Nutro - didn't seem to have diarrhea but still lost weight. He has been back on the Pro Plan for a couple of days and his tummy isn't sinking in any more. Don't have a clue why the Nutro didn't agree with him.

I agree - the only thing is the adult formula is a little larger and Chip has a harder time chewing. That darn overbite of his but he eats the purina one so go figure - at least he doesn't look like I am starving him to death any more and he has a lot more energy. I can't leave him on puppy food much longer so I will have to figure something out. Hopefully, the pro plan will go to a smaller kibble and that will solve my problem.

Just recently switched to Chicken Soup For the Dog Lovers Soul. Duchess will eat anything. I found a distributer very close by. Also bought the Cat variety and my cat Powder loves it. He was always finicky with grocery store foods.

Dundie's breeder reccomended Nutro to us when we got her, but since my other girls were on Iams, I switched her to that. Then she started having a terrible stool eating habit. I talked to some people about it, and once again, Nutro was reccomended. Now I have everyone on Nutro, and they're doing better than ever. I may never switch again. The stool eating stopped in less than a week, and everyone poops less too.
