Stand on one side with the flap open and hold a special treat towards her. When she comes through, give her the treat. Keep doing this until she is comfortable and then put the fold down and try it. Chip started through the doggie door at my daughters when he was little bitty and he loved it. He thought it was a game. He watched my daughter's dog go through and then he went through so little ones can do it. Hope this helps. We don't have a doggie door at our house.

I thought about adding a doggy door but with the raccoons always around am a little to worried they would walk on in. Once one tried to reach the patio door handle - they are not afraid at all. The cat will be three feet away and they just ignore each other - figured this is one fight Raisin knows to walk away from. Em & Chloe's favorite thing is to guard the patio door each evening and let us know when Rocky Raccoon comes to visit.

I have near neighbours who had two Bull Mastiffs and they had a 'Doggie Door" for them to get into the house. I could fit through a doggie door that size - great security
