I hesitated to put this here as it does not relate to Corgis, however it does show that no matter how vigilant you are, the fast and unexpected can happen to our Furkids.

This story has a happy ending, but could have been disastrous for two mini schnauzers.

This is the scenario as related to me last week by the Breeder of the puppy and I will try to make it brief.

Owners live in a small but touristy (and some alternative lifestyle) country town - they own one adult m/schnauzer and have a week or so earlier picked up the new puppy.

Sitting at outside tables of Coffee shop in main street, puppy in carry container on chair, adult m/s tied to to husbands chair.

Wife goes to counter for serviettes - husband turns head to talk to people at next table - woman comes past, grabs puppy and races across street - husband jumps up - adult m/s with chair in tow takes off after dognapper - very large cattle truck travelling slowly applies air brakes and manages to stop in time - woman apprehended by shopkeeper and pasersby further down street and handed over to Police. Everyone very shaken and cattle truck driver still scratching his head in bemusement, says it's the first time he has had to stop for a dog with it's own chair.

When I had that puppy, Taffy for two weeks, One day i had tied him to a chair while I went into a shop and he didn't like me being out of view, so he raced off towing a heavy chair and it caused Taylor to go after him until some people passing by stopped to help a yelping little puppy.

On TV we've seen video of theives hiding pet store puppies in their clothes and running out the door...

It seems ruthless people have caused the need for everyone now to always be on guard and be vigilant. It seems our pets, children, and sadly our way of life are all under attack now.
