Nikki,
That is fine - we can all have our different opinions, that is what forums are all about.
But I can't imagine the tension that these families are living day to day with these neurotic dogs that strike out at family members and strangers and destroy furniture beyond recognition.- some of these people said they have been living with these dogs for 5 years like this.
Like I said, when you get to the point, that you contact this guy, you are desperate to get answers and these dominant, aggressive dogs cannot be left to think that "they are in charge and run the household" and saying "nice doggy" to them is not going to cut it. He never hit the dogs, but in a lot of cases, did what the "dogs mother" would have done to them had they acted up - putting them in a submissive position and letting them know that the humans are not bad people - once in that position, he was petting and massaging them; and he remains calm throughout what he does.
He said last night that he mostly deals with rehabilitating aggressive dogs and that in many cases, the owners were told that they should "put them down", so if he can intervene and the dogs life is saved, that is a good thing. You really have to watch a show rather than
making an opinion from a small clip.
What would be an alternative way of training these dogs not to bite ones
fingers off?
Linda
