Archiving Messages - 03-31-2007, 06:41 PM

Michael-How do you archive messages? If you have those you want to save but not count against your total I wasn't sure about placing them elsewhere. I made an additional folder and transferred some to it but I still get the same total for Inbox and Sent even after making another folder to clear out some from both.

Well-I guess there's no way to archive messages.

colcolt,

Stephen is the administrator of Go Corgi - perhaps a PM to him will answer your question.

I'll go make toast now

Deb, you seem to do this often when asked for advice relating to computers

Linda,

I'm good with dumb terminals & the work related programs that I used (even taught others if you can believe it) but PC stuff... well toast is about all I'm good for

OK, thanks I'll try him. Moderators on the computer forums I go to seem to be able to answer things like this. I guess Michael's no computer geek.

You're right - I am a poor servant of the computer. But I do know thiis - and it might very well be one of Go Corgis secrets up until now - when you get to the max with private messages, there before your very eyes emerges another horizon ie another figure relating to the maximum. Leastwise that's the way it is for me. I am now up to 260 or so with a max of 500 - and I actually initiate few private messages except to spam people where I tell them to get off the bus. Among other things, private messaging helps dilute Go Corgi and it takes the fun out of the site.

Colcolt, I am sorry that no ones seems to be able to answer your questions. I am of no help to you either; but I can say thank goodness for email and instant messaging, as other alternatives to sending Pm's.

I disagree (if that's allowed). The PM feature has allowed me to get closer to members without having to post personal info all over the forum. Which means I'm always coming back to check my PM's, then threads, replying to both and seemingly mostly looking forward to it...... mostly....

I know we don't have anything remotely close to a 500 max...more like 50 but as you said, there are alternatives. Making the extra folder didn't help as it still will give the total amount regardless-but as Hans and Frans use to say on Saturday Night live..."that's ok for me, for we are some wild and crazy guys!!

I guess I am a bit confused about this also because if someone were looking to join Go Corgi, the home page mentions that by joining, they will be able to send Pm's to other members; I didn't realize that this is frowned upon.

I'm sorry that you couldn't get a satisfactory answer ColColt. I wish I had one to give you. I also love the PM feature, and 50 messages can accumulate like that (insert snapping fingers).
