Hey Corgsters,

I am ready for a new pup! :wiggle: I have a male Pem named Ollie who is the love of my life and fully trained/well behaved and very well socialized... he loves other dogs/pups/cats/kids/adults -- you name it! :paw: So I'm ready to potty train all over again! :) I just love corgis :)

This time, I'd really like to find a blue merle cardi with a lot of white, esp on the face... I will not be showing but may be interested in agility and Ollie will soon be attending a sheep herding class so I'd love to get our new addition in on that.

Know of any breeders within a weekend's drive of Los Angeles? I got Ollie from a wonderful breeder who only does Pems so I would love any advice/insight! I'm not in a big hurry but would like to start the search! :lay:

Thanks!
Ollie & his mama

Ideally I would like to find a half bench cover but I'm not having any luck. In my current car I just drop a towel over one side and put the arm rest down to keep him in one seat. If anyone has any experience with car seat covers I would be inteested to hear about it. Thanks!

She jumped into the car and missed on Sat. morning but she seemed OK til Sunday night when I noticed she was noticable limping. Today, Monday, she woke up and was limping badly. I just got back from the vet who examined her and said her left shoulder is "luxating". He got it back in and gave me some anti inflamation med to take and I should call him in a few days. He said it is important to keep her on only 1 level for at least 1 wk. No stairs.

I hope the shoulder stays in. Anyone have any experiences with this sort of injury and what to expect. Ruby is 9 and does have a history of limping, although not this bad, and she has not limped for over a yr.

Hello all. I still can't figure out how to make an album. Here are a couple of pictures of my Pem. fluffies. Gracie is about 17 months old and Dyson is almost 5 months old. They get along great together. I've got Dyson in puppy classes. He is definitely more laid back than Gracie. Gracie is a social butterfly and Dyson is a little more timid. It is amazing the difference between them! Here is a picture of the two of them.

I just picked him up from the airport yesterday afternoon!

He's amazingly quiet. Granted, I haven't met many corgis, but I've only heard one bark out of him since I met him. (He was all revved up from playing with a tug toy.) He's played harder since then, but is completely quiet while he does: no growling, barking...but he obviously looks very happy. Sometimes he excitedly snorts? (And he fetches tugging toys, but not balls! Lol! )
Anyway, despite the un-corgilike quietness, he is the sweetest little thing EVER. He follows my brother and I around the house from room to room, and passes out next to us when he needs to take a nap. Even when I put him in his crate for the night, he gave one mildly disappointed whine, then went to bed. He's even good with baths (He thinks toweling off is the best game ever, and even ran back into the bathroom and tried to jump back in the tub after he was halfway dry (Maybe for the towel game to happen again?) )

Anyway, by now you're probably thinking 'Hey, get to the pictures already', so here it goes

i got a corgi puppy, i was told it is 17 weeks old. he is really pretty amazing, he hasnt had any accidents in the house and the most friendly dog ive ever seen. he welcomes everyone instantly. its amazing.

i have never really had a puppy so i dont know all the changes they go through, and ive never had a corgi so excuse me if my questions are .. overly basic/stupid. also, i like him just as he is so i hope i dont sound like a jerk since, some of these questions are about appearance (although i know they could be evidence of something wrong)

first off - his ears stick up straight - aside from the last.. half inch maybe - then they curl back a bit.. considering its just the tips - do you think it will end up sticking up on its own as he grows or do i need to tape it? also - if i do not tape it will that have any negative effects later or will he simply have floppy tips. hahah (sounds .. odd?)

next - i have been reading about them and ive read over and over that they (at least the pembroke) have a flat spot between their ears - my dog however seens to have a pretty rounded head on the top. not important to me really as he still looks super cute, just curious if i should be worried. or maybe as he grows it will flatten out how it should be? he is only 17 weeks so i assume a lot of stuff will work itself out.

andd .. lets see. hair - he has a few little thin/baldish spots near his arm/shoulder area - i have had other dogs that have had similar spots but im not sure whats normal for a corgi. his hair is pretty soft currently, but there is a spot on his back that is coarser/not as soft and there is a little spot on his head that is just growing in that is much thicker and coarser than the rest of his hair - i assume he will start losing his .. puppy hair and it will be replaced with the coarser hair? i'm sure i sound ridiculous but i i thought someone on here could tell me.

i think were going to get him neutered soon.. i read the time to do that was usually between 4 and 6 months so i think now is the time. if anyone has anything to say about that please let me know!

otherwise, he tends to be pretty bitey but i have read that thats just how they are and its mostly a phase so we just have to wait it out. he still has puppy teeth so im guessing its sort of a teething thing?

if you read this and have any info for me, i GREATLY appreciate it. i hope i dont sound like a crazy person!

Hey Everyone, first post :)

My girlfriend and I have been interested in adopting a rescue Pembroke for a while now, and I've been casually researching everything I need to know about the breed over the last few months.

Here's a little background on our current situation: My girlfriend and I live in a one bedroom, two floor apartment (not sure of the sq. footage but it's definitely not small) that's attached to a large house in a wonderful suburb in Baltimore County. We have an enormous backyard and front yard (neither are fully fenced) and easy access to various parks and walking paths throughout the area. My landlord is also pet friendly.

My primary concern is that my girlfriend and I both have full time jobs, and we don't get home until around 5:00pm. So, if we did adopt, our Corgi would be alone for 7-8 hours a day M-F.

I know that we wouldn't be able to set aside enough time to adopt a puppy, which is why I'd rather adopt an older (3-5 yrs old) rescue Pembroke.

Do other couples in the community have the same kind of working situation, where the Corgi is at home alone for long periods of time? How do you make the best of the situation? Do you crate your Corgi while you're away at work, or is he/she well behaved enough to roam the house/apartment freely?

Thanks!
