Dog Clothing

I am wondering if say I took my corgi out for a walk with one of those cute little shirts on but when I got back it was extremely dirty. Would it be safe to wash this in the washing machine with the rest of our clothing?

Well if it is made of polyester and/or cotton material, it should be fine to do.
Usually they put tags in those to tell you the recommended cleaning method.
If it were a sweater, you might want to hand wash and dry flat - check the labels

Ha ha so far it is just hypothetical! I am very much looking forward to dressing her up though!

I was asking because I wasn't sure if their skin would be sensitive to laundry detergent.....

I'm sure the day will come though when this "hypothetical question" will become reality!! lol

That is okay They may be sensitive to laundry detergent and/or fabric softeners, and you will have to wash her bedding also, so it is good that you are thinking of this ahead of time. I am sure you are well aware that there are lots of detergents now made for those who are sensitive. Really, us humans may like the smell of the detergents and the fabric softeners, but I don't think the dog cares whatsoever if it smells great - just more important to keep their bedding clean

If you are concerned, wash the hypothetical shirt in detergent meant for babies clothes. I use the regular Tide and Bounce for my dogs winter coats, bedding and towels and their skin is fine. Rupe does hate it though when his winter coat is all clean out of the laundry - he'll roll every two feet trying to get the "nice" smell out of it.
This day was hilarious - I think he rolled more than he walked!

Hey Tash,

Can you post a picture of Ein with the cute shirt? =)
If you are worried about washing it with detergent, try Woolite. It's gentle enough for undergarments. Or like what others said, try using a baby detergent or something. As odd as it seems, using a tear free shampoo like Johnsons & Johnsons are mild enough to clean a lot of stuff but still clean enough. I would try that.

Milo's towels and beddings are done with regular detergent. He's not allegic to any of them. He just doesn't like us spraying the room with Lysol b/c he sneezes.

I think I will buy a softer laundry detergent just to make sure :-)

I absolutely love that pic with your dog rolling around in the snow!

When we get her I will definitely take some pictures of her in her "clothing"

This Saturday is going to be "dog day". Finish buying all of the stuff that Ein will need...I'm so exctied, I love buying toys and stuff for animals!

I feel like giggling I'm so excited lol
