That is real good news. Did the vet say if Buta will be cured or is this something you have to keep treating. So glad that Buta found a good mommy

Thanks Jeni D & chip's mom
The vet said that the bacterial infection will go off very soon with antibiotics & the mange part will need to be monitored. He says that Buta's skin is very healthy & her diet is great. I will continue to monitor her & hopefully we can evict all the damn mange mites

When my previous Corgi had two successive operations for ligament damage to his back legs, some of his coat where the ops took place had to be shaven - and boy I couldn't wait for the hair to grow back again - it took something like three months to be fully regrown on each occassion and with a Corgi's trousers or skirt (depending if they are boy or girl), it is never quite the same again as it was originally - not as perfect or as fluffy. BUt I'm picking that Buta will have an even better coat texture etc when it regrows because the problem will (hopefully) have been solved and all the stuff that's been administered in the past, won't have to be applied again and that will mean a natural coat can blossom unhindered. It's good that youir climate suits a less that well coated Corgi.

She seems to feel better without her thick coat & our neighbours love her new shaven look Yes I am glad that our weather can let her go bald but I still love it when she is furry but I notice she pants alot & drinks lots more water.

It is ironic but Buta has to be more guarded against the sun now that part of her is so exposed. So her panting and drinking more water fits in to the situation of the sun being more directly on her skin and causing her to overheat more so than if she had her usual double coat.

I hope Buta's mange clears up soon. How is she enjoying her shaved style? Is she cold?

Edit: Oh, duh! I just read a few posts I missed! Sounds like the weather is fine there!

Shaved again? I think the water drinking has to do with the haze situation we are having in Singapore. She looks cute!

Michael

When Chip was neutered, they shaved his little pants and he is still growing it back in. It doesn't seem to be as fluffy or as soft as it was prior to his neutering. I wonder why that happens.

Good to hear Buta is doing better! This new vet seems very pro-active with her case.

Buta is just being fashion forward - shaved hair and sun glasses! All the corgis will be following in her footsteps soon! Right Fluffy P???
