Dooley is getting neutered!!!!!!!! - 10-18-2006, 11:56 AM

I am getting Dooley neutered tomorrow. I am so nervous and worried .
How is all the others doing after they have been fixed?
I have heard so many people say that there dog changes personality and such. Is this true for some people?

IN my experience, nothing changed. My sweet Dillon is as sweet as a neutered boy as he was intact! I am sure everything will go just fine with little Dooley-I would say dont worry but as Dooleys mom, how could you not? Sending hugs to little Dooley!

Chip was neutered in July and he is the same now as he was before his neuter except he doesn't lift that little leg. Try not to worry and keep us posted how he is doing.

I have a female corgi, so can't really say if it has an effect on them . . . but I have had male cats neutered and have seen no negative effects to their personalities. It's hard not to worry when your baby goes under the knife - I was a wreck when I had Jackie spayed. But it's a routine procedure, and just keep repeating He WILL be ok . . . He WILL be ok . . .
Let us know how he does - we'll be thinking of you tomorrow!

Milo was neutered like 3 weeks ago. He's back to normal and fine. He didn't notice a thing much but doesn't like to go to the vet now. Neutering is much easier than spaying and less complicated. Don't worry!

It doesn't really change the dog's personality much especially if the dog is young. Just let your corgi rest a lot after getting it done and be more attentive. It'll be hard to move and he'll be a bit groggy. Feed him his medication - most important. Everything will be alright! Might need to wear that e-collar for 2 weeks also.

No change in Trevor, and he healed pretty quickly, too.

Think positive thoughts and let us know how it turns out!

Rupe mellowed a bit, he was having some agression issues so it was a small, but good change! He was back to his regular physical self in a day. No worries - he'll be fine!

Everything will be fine, don't worry. Ponzo didn't change a bit and he still can't wait to get into the vet waiting room to see all of the other dogs. He even had more evasive surgery because one of his testicles never descended, but everything was totally normal with his recovery. Your dog is in good hands, relax!
