A Corgi Christmas...

I LOVE that expression: "full frap"!! haha - it describes EXACTLY what ChloeLouise was doing - running as hard as she could back and forth between Abigail and me!! She is only RARELY allowed to be "free-range" and REALLY loves running "full frap"!! Thanks for adding that phrase to our lexicon!!

As far as the doggy gear goes - I am just guessing but I think stuffing ChloeLouise into any kind of "garment" would be a hilarious lost cause!! We tried to put a Halloween costume on her last year and by the time we had two legs on her, Abigail and I were rolling on the floor laughing - and Chloe never did wear the outfit!! Every time I go to Old Navy I see those darling jackets and sweaters, but alas...

Chip is the same way. If I put a jacket or little shirt on him, he walks around like I have beat him to within an inch of his life. I took him to obedience class with his little jacket on and the first thing the instructor asked was what is wrong with Chip. It is really pathetic the way he acts so I guess no jackets or little shirts for Chip.

I am using their stockings for their Christmas presents. They have so many toys I am just replacing some of the older ones w/ newer versions (nyla bones, kongs, etc). At $85 per six week session of Agility classes, that will be Tucker's present and I will pay to repeat Basic Obedience w/ Lulu.

Tucker showed no interest in the tree last year and same again this year.

Lulu on the other hand is somewhat curious about the tree. "Leave it" is heard quite a bit in my living room these days. And she does! Good girl.....(off to chew the love seat in the dining room).....

yesterday I put Emma and Chloe's new pressed bones in their stocking (so I wouldn't loose them b4 Christmas -sad but true) and a little later Chloe was walking by - stopped in front of the fireplace with nose in the air just sniffing away! Good thing she can't jump that high.....yet!

This is Ace's first Christmas and he doesn't seem interested in any of our decorations inside. He is unsure about the tree. Which is good for the cat because he loves to lay under the tree and Ace is leaving him alone! Ace does like my singing peguins. Everytime I play it he stops and watches! We weren't going to do too many gifts for Ace because he gets so much on a regular basis. He does have a stocking with some treats in it from Jim's mom. (Yes, Ace is spoiled by one and all... ) I would like to see what he does with a wrapped gift though! Off to Petsmart to buy yet another toy!

It would be nice for me and Taylor if Christmas morning was a little more Corgi friendly in my household. Other years it's been "no we don't want Taylor in on the action (presents opening) or in the photos. Do we have to have Taylor involved. Don't tell me you got him a present."

I won't be getting Taylor a toy for Xmas - it will have to be food treats. I'd like to get him a babble ball but the ones that can take replacement batteries are not yet available in NZ.

We are having roast lamb and roast veggies for Xmas lunch which is very much NZ as is the dessert which will be pavlova topped with strawberries, Kiwi fruit and cream. Taylor is sure to get a sampling of everything. My wife is baking a large iced fruit cake and that will come into its own later in the day. Our special Xmas breakfast will include Croissants fulled with bacon, egg, mushroom and feta cheese.

When we had Thumper and Tasha we always had presents for them wrapped under the tree.......and stockings with their names on them hung by the fireplace.
We always celebrated their birthdays too! Always had a cake for them and presents..........we always celebrated too on what we called their "Anniversary of Arrival" the day they came to live with us! So we actually had lots of celebrating with them during the year!
