Cute video. Zip (my cocker spaniel) rolled in the mud when we cleaned up our backyard today.

Apollo is ready for a public display - a one dog show. Would he go down a treat at the places I take my Taylor - schools and retirement villages.
Don't stop the training and the rewards/praise he gets for doing them. He could have a very large array of tricks but you mustn't lose your enthusiasm. Don't forget he enjoys the efforts it takes and the attention he receives.

Is there a special training school you have to go through to do that? I just thought about it and I'm sure Apollo would love to cheer up people that are feeling blue or need encrouagement.

In NZ there are organisations who suss out the suitability of dogs for visits to rest homes/retirement homes, hospices/ hospitals etc. They have certain rules and there is insurance involved. but I just go on my own steam with no official recognition. And Taylor is in demand.
But I believe in some other countries there are processes to go through and training - but no training and processes include tricks that your Apollo can do. Everything he can do on that video is a bonus. Taylor and I went professional for school class visits at the start of this year and Taylor has his own meet and greet 'tricks' as he goes off-leash from student to student or clusters of students while I talk about Taylor and dogs in general. But again it is all from my and Taylor's initiatives

Facilities here in the U.S. will require you to be a member of a therapy group. See above links.

Good Luck.

He's GIFTED!!!!!!! What a genius Puppy. I'm takkng your video home tonight and showing it to my two hoodlums.

My two could use a little more work on the rollover and shake and less on chewing the love seat and now the window sill! Can I borrow your pupy for a week, maybe he will rub off on mine! (sure hope it wouldn't work in reverse....)

What I think would really help is training them one on one. I use sign language and commands for apollo. An example is for speaking, I chose to make my hand like a dog pretending to bark with it. So when I say speak, I show him my hand signals. So he knows to speak with my hand or my command. And one trick at a time. I started with sit, but I wouldn't give him the treat unless if he did it. It can take about a few minutes to an hour for a trick for your dog to learn.

The very first trick is the most important in my opinion, because after they master it, it will be easier for them to master other commands because they will know the whole process of doing something you ask them to do for a treat.

My problem with training is that Joni mastered the sit, but she thinks that is good enough to get the treat. How do you change the subject to try something else? She would lay down for awhile, but she always thinks that sit should be enough work.

First I'd like to add that your Corgi looks a lot like my Corgi. I notice she has that black mask just like APollo does.

As for the tricks, I helped my Apollo out. Sitting and laying was first. I wouldn't give him a treat unless he obayed. Then when he layed down, and roll him over and give hima treat. Do it again and again and again and then stop helping them slowly and let htem do it themselves. Of course you have to name your trick you're asking them to do while you're training them.

cute videos. Your dog is certainly well trained in his tricks. And yep, they certainly do frap. That is fun watching frapping. None of my other breed dogs ever did frapping.
