A Cardigan mixed with a Pembroke will simply look like a Corgi with the dominant features the same criteria as they are now for colour etc of each of the breeds.
There are plenty of mixes in the background of both breeds from the not too distant past. In any case MY theory is that both breeds are related and I base my opinion on the assumption that a small close knit country such as Wales with a small population going back through its history is very unlikely to produce two lookalike breeds as unique as Corgis are, and yet are not related. And no similar breed was found anywhere else in the world. Last edited by Michael Romanos; 01-10-2007 at 02:34 AM. |

You might try looking at these pictures I posted just yesterday evening of Katie. I was told she was "half and Half" by someone who had both. The only thing was, she had a strange color I've not seen before but, you be the judge. Also, here's another picture of her.

Color wise, it will depend on what the red Pembroke is carrying, IF it is carrying for tri, then you might end up w/a black & white (tri) "Cardibroke/ Pemigan."
The point color of the black & white Cardi potentially could be a factor in the color as well.Kate, well depends on her background. Cardigans have several dilutes in their genetic soup which could cause her color to be that light. Pembrokes have a couple, one of which could/would cause the same coloring. Debbie |
