I am curious too Behindereyes - The mother dog must have just gotten bred and why is the breeder going to keep the puppies for 4 months?

If the b*tch is pregnant now or just been bred, and IF behindhereyes is getting her puppy from the breeder she has mentioned before, then the six month time frame is not out of the question. In certain cases, breeders will and do keep puppies until they are 16 weeks before letting them go home.
Additionally IF behindhereyes is getting her puppy from the breeder she's mentioned, then she most certainly doesn't need to come to GC and ask questions like "what size collar to get." This breeder can answer that and likely even give suggestions as to where safe/good potty stops might be. When one has a knowledgeable, responsible, reputable Breeder, then use them as your ultimate resource. The only advice I'll give now is to wait until the litter is actually on the ground(been born) and you see IF there is going to be a puppy for you. Debbie |

I found to breeders in Wisconsin their names are Lori Pasche and Yvette Huesler Lori lives pretty close to Chicago Yvette live close to Minneapolis I figured it would be about a 10 to 14 hour round trip depending on who the puppy comes from. I even know who the mother and father dogs are or will be in Lori's case. It is so cool the fathers of the hopefully upcoming puppies are both champions. Plus both of them have been very nice and helpful with the process. I have a crate the Lori reccommended and a whole bunch of stuff for the puppy. I am quite excited. I am hoping to go to Wisconsin to meet them in March, provided I have enough money for the gas. This whole experience is teaching me alot and I am very excited about the whole thing. I can't wait to scoop my little Pembroke up and give it lots of kisses. I know the trip may be a little rough for the puppy and the first few nights may be a little bad, but it is all in the process. I could just go on for hours, so I should probably spare you guys.

No I am actually staying home so I can take care of my puppy. I have another year of high school and then I am staying in town so I can get cheaper tution. I plan on becoming a full vet. I have the biggest passion for animals. I would fight for an animals rights till the day I die. I have even considered maybe trying to join the ASPCA. I love to take care of animals. Ever since I was five I have wanted to be a vet so bad. I know where I am going for both colleges, provided I get into both. I am hoping that both work out. I really think I can do so much for these get mini people. I like almost every animal I have met even lizards and snakes. I have actually had a Lizard before for a pet. again I should probably spare you guys.

Maybe you posted this before and I missed it but how many pets have you had or have now? Have you ever had a dog before? Does your parents have dogs?

Oh you have a lot to look forward to.
So you are thinking of coming to Wisconsin in March to meet both breeders and then decide which one you want to go with? Which breeder's dog is already pregnant? If you are going by the time frame you just mentioned, with one of the breeders dogs already being pregnant it sounds like you could be getting a pup that is maybe 4 months old. Just a note that the "little Pembroke you want to scoop up" might not be so little by the time you bring him home. My Cody was 15 pounds at 4 months old. Well, you will surely have a lot going on. As much as I love my Cody, I have never quite thought of him as a "mini person". Hopefully your Cocker spaniel will enjoy the new dog also. Earlier on, I thought you mentioned that your Cocker Spaniel was an outside dog. Last edited by corgimom; 01-15-2007 at 03:04 PM. |

I try to bring Lucy inside as much as I can, but it really doesn't work to well. Lucy is actually my sisters dog. I take better care of her though. I have been trying to get my mom to consider letting me potty train her so she can live in the house, but my mom won't let me. I love her so much. Even though she is my sisters I think of her a mine, since my dog Snuggles died when he was about four years old. I hope you guys don't think of me any different, because she lives outside. I get alot of bad comments about her living out there. I hate it myself, but I really can't do anything about it. I make her as confortable and warm as I possibly can. I know she does really love it outside. I don't want the new puppy to live outside like Lucy my sisters dog. If she is still alive after I get my batchelors degree, I want to take her with me. |

Behindereyes:
Wow - it sounds like you have had a lot of pets. That is about one a year unless you are a multiple pet household. I love cocker spaniels, what color is he? It sounds like you have great plans to go to college - that is really a good profession . When you get your new corgi puppy, will he live outside also? How old is your cocker spaniel?

Lucy is about 10 to 11 years old. I really want the puppy to live inside. I don't even want Lucy to live outside. My goose aka Lucy is great, I buy her a new leash and collar every year, because they always get so dirty. The thing is my parents are divored, so I had atleast two pets at once all the time. I have had a multipet home, but I kind of like just having two dogs at once, Snuggle's was Lucy's brother, even though it was hard to believe, because he was blac and she is like a gold blond color. I was going to get Jenna a Red Cocker, but she died of some unknown illiness. Snuggles almost died from it too, but some how survived. Even though he died of a heartattack.
