Smile Bunny Hopping

Hello everyone! I haven't posted here for awhile.

I am just wondering if anyone elses Corgi hops like a rabbit? I swear sometimes Ein is a rabbit that looks like a fox! It is so hilarious!!!

Yep! Ace hops like a bunny (with a long tail!) at times. If I remember correctly, I think that hopping is good.... for their hips? Anyway, it is cute to watch that's for sure!

Hi Tash,

Yup, most Corgis will "hop" occassionally when running or playing - maybe Ein is just trying to keep her feet warm out there!

She looks really good - such a sweet face!

Tucker does the bunny hop. He'll run out the back door barking his head off if he thinks there's something in the backyard. It's not at all threatneing, it looks as if he's saying to the birds, squirrells, whatever - "hey, come play with me"!

Cracks me up every time!

Emma sometimes hops like a bunny.

Chloe on the other hand seems to either run flat out or she has a little trot when she follows us - no time for a bunny hop.

Rhys used to do that when he was younger - he doesn't so much now. But Andy - you'd think she really was a rabbit! When she is outside playing around she hops everywhere! It's really cute!

Sam is real hopper- and a friend of mine who is in school to become a vet and also does quite a bit of trialing and training with his dogs commented that perhaps Sam had something going on with his hips. I have had them xrayed- and I am glad to say they are okay- but SA Corgi does have a point. Hopping is not a good sign in any other breed. I know that with the dwarfism Corgis are built very differently and that is why my vet said that although he hops- it is just him- not a hip thing...but it may be something to look out for if your dog does it excessively...

Yep Libby is a hopper. Today I was out claring some snow away from the gate at the drive and she and the other dogs where running around and the next thing I knew she was hopping right into the snow bank and she was gone then kept hopping right back out. IT was quite funny to say the least. She really loves the snow.

I have never paid enough attention to it in the past to comment on any of my other Corgis. But Taylor, I observed only two days ago, whips up to his fastest speed over a sprinting distance with a bunny-hopping action of his back legs.

Yes I have to say Montana is a hopper too. Sometimes I think also she was a cat in her past life. LOL!!! I mess with her when she is in the bed with me. If she is at the bottom of the bed all I have to do is move my hand under the blanket and she leaps into the air and pounces on it. And then tries to play with it on top of the blanket. So then I get her with my feet to get to pounce to the end of the bed to do it all over again. It is so hilarious to see her flying through the air with a determined look on her face to get the thing under the blanket.

Dudley doesn't bunny hop. I have to say, he is alot like T-Gal's Chloe. He either breaks into a full out run or trots happily along
