Drum Roll Please! Meet Chip & Dale - 01-20-2007, 06:10 PM

Well we are home and we decided - OK I decided I just had to take Dale home with us and the decision was right on. He is the sweetest little boy and the best part is he just loves his big brother. It was really an easy decision - I picked him up and looked at his overbite and he gave me all sort of little corgi kisses, then I picked up the little female and she is as sweet as she could be but her and Maybelle would have clashed big time. Little Tuff Stuff was next and there was just absolutely no click. While I was playing with the other two choices, Dale was following Chip all over and trying to play with him - so cute. Then I took Little Dale to the back of the room and played with him for a few minutes and declared that overbite or not, I had to take him home. He is a perfect fit to our household. The ride home was so very easy. We stopped at a golf course and he pottied 5 steps from the car and just followed Chip and me everywhere we went. He drank his water, ate a little food and slept with Chip in the back seat. Here are two pics that we took.

Congrats Bonnie, He is really adorable and I am so very happy for you. I am also glad that the decision was so easy and that little Dale let you know he was the right one! The second photo is adorable, they both look wiped out! Welcome home Dale!

Well congratulations Bonnie,

I loved the photo of them sleeping next to each other. He looks adorable. How did the introduction go between all of them?

Looks like Dale is a little Mini Chip in the Sleeping Picture LOL

Something just told me you would choose Dale! Seems like your first impression was right and Dale will fit right in! Congratulations Mom

I know that two is my official limit BUT I sure wish one of you New Moms lived close enough that I could get my Puppy Fix

Bonnie ~
Dale is a cutie! I'm so glad that Chip has a little brother. Looking forwarding to hearing stories. I showed hubby the picture and he said "is that the Chip with the sunglasses on the boat?"

T-Gal

It seems other people know me better than I know myself. I had to call two of my children after we picked up the pup and when I told them, I got Dale - they both started laughing and knew exactly which one I was bringing home. Both said they knew it would be Dale. My husband also told me on the way home that he knew we would be bringing lil Dale home. Believe it or not but I did go without a clue which one would be coming home with us. Chip is already teaching him how to play tug of war and poor big Maybelle is trying to figure out how she can get down on his level to play with him. Everyone has accepted him real well and of course Pawsitively Perfect Chip is playing big brother to the max. I have already broken the biggest rule of all. Last night at bedtime, Chip headed for bed and then turned back around and came out to get Dale and coaxed him in the bedroom. I followed them in to see what they were up to and Chip was on the bench at the foot of the bed looking down at Dale trying to get him to jump up on the bench so they could go to bed. I fixed Dale's little crate and put him in it, went to bed and turned out the lights. Chip left the bed in a huff and went under the bed. The next thing I hear is little whining noises. I turned on the light and there is Chip sitting by the crate and Dale whining. We hadn't been to bed in 20 hours so I did the only thing a good corgi mom could do. Opened the crate, plopped Dale in bed with me - Chip got up on the bed - found his normal sleeping spot and we all went sound asleep. Other than outside during the night for two potty breaks - we did well. Oh Dale's favorite toy is also Chip's favorite toy - the little ty mouse Chip got for Christmas and Chip even is sharing it. What a guy.

I am SOOOO happy to hear that your decision turned out to be a relatively easy one - that Dale let you know, in no uncertain terms, that HE was THE ONE!! What PRECIOUS photos and I agree with the general consensus that the second picture is just TOO CUTE for words!!
Lots of Corgi kisses for the new baby (and Chip!!)
