Dog party !!

About 8 or 10 dogs are at the dog park when we visit. Lots of things for Bailey to do. Finally at the end a new friend wants to wrestle as much as Bailey does.

A video, about 4 minutes.

The pain pills seem to do a good job. Once in a while he scratches and itches his back leg, the vet says they may do that if the hip hurts. But it seems OK most of the time. He does not limp or seem impaired at all. It's hard to tell if it hurts, but not so much it shows. He normally does not run that much.
I try not to think about the poor outlook for the future.
The vet says with periodic blood tests to check something (liver function?) he can stay on the pills forever.

Well, I guess that's good then. I was holding my breath watching that video - hoping no big dogs jumped on him or rolled over on him!

Somehow the big dogs never seem to make a mistake like that. My guess is that they spend so much time with other dogs they have learned to be careful. That very small white dog, half the size of Bailey, is with the other big dogs every single day.
About 8 of them come together with a dog walker, they all ride together in the back of a mini van. !

Baileys meds seems to be doing great for him. He's running and playing just like he has no problems now! Must make you feel really good about his progress.

Did anyone else happen to hear Bailey hollering "Mom! Get away from me with that camera! Geez.... not in front of my friends!"

Hahahahaha! I'm kidding of course.

Don't you love watching them just being a dog? They seem so happy running and chasing. Last night I had to decide between taking my 2 for a walk along the salted roads or take them behind the high school (in the dark!) and let them run around the field. I chose the high school. My two knuckle heads were having such a great time running and chasing (somehow it seems more fun when it;s not in their yard...), rolling in the snow, chasing shadows, etc. There was enough light from the new moon, snow on the ground, and parking lot lights so I could keep them in sight ( and pick up poo!). Fortunately, my two Momma's dogs don't stray too far.

I wish my twon had a dog park. Tucker loves to herd the dogs at the dog park.

The lake has people setting up huts on the ice so must be pretty frozen. Hopefull my two can get out on the lake this weekend (next 48 hours are supposed to be frigid!) for a run with the dobermans.

Yes and no at the same time. It's not really progress. I can't forget that for long because the same thing is happening to me. It makes me remember to give him his pills as I take mine. So I know it's not progress, it's masking symptoms. I still restrict his running, the joints will get worse overtime. I almost forget about that when he's having fun.
You have to enjoy the good times when they happen. Yes, he's having a good time right now and we enjoy it a lot. As long as he seems to be having fun it's all good. And he's having a lot of fun.

The dog park has a double gated chamber on each entrance so the dogs can't get out. It has free bags for owners to pick up with, and sealed tamper proof disposal barrels too. It's surrounded by paths in the woods. Some paths lead to the bike path for Bailey's trike too. It's awesome. A good thing to bring up at your town meetings.

Corgis can take a lot more punishment in any rough playing from big dogs than other dogs of Corgi size or smaller. They have the weight - a lot of times too much - and a big dog attitude.

It's great that Bailey is enjoying himself immensley at the park.

Thanks. It is great.

That's a good point, I don't think I would want another breed of small dog.
When I see or pat the neighbors small dogs they look so fragile and breakable. The neighbors agree. One of them has broken his leg a few times.

Bailey jumps up to grab the Great Dane’s ear so he will wrestle.
