I LOVE my Crate! - 02-09-2007, 12:49 PM

A few things I've come to know about Corgis in the past few months....

#1. I could NOT do with out my crate for house taining and car riding! It has been a lifesaver (mainly keeping me from killing my dog ).

#2. If you've never gone to dog training, I'd highly recommend it for starting out with your dog ESPECIALLY with this breed. They absolutely need socialization without contact (and with) and we humans need to learn how to train in a positive way!

#3. No matter how good they are in class, if you take them to a friends for play dates, DO NOT expect them to do ONE thing they learn in class if they know they get to play with the dogs you take them to see.... For some reason seeing those playmates makes their hearing turn completely OFF.

#4. Corgi dogs apparently weigh about 140lbs in their mind... They are the size of a St. Bernard until they are litterally sat on by a 60+lb Ol' English Mastiff puppy and even then, it's questionable if they came back down to size!

#5. Although their food dish is full with the best recommended food out there, they will insist at the dinner table that they are STARVING! Although mine has to stay on the carpet and is not allowed AT the table, you can FEEL the stare from 50yards.

#6. A bath isn't too bad, but what is it about nail clipping that makes a corgi forget who's in charge?

#7. HOW do I get enough fur when brushing every few days to knit a puppy and NOT have a bald dog?

That's all I can think of for now.. I'll add more as I realize more.
Have a GREAT Day!!!
