I got another PEM!!!

I was having such fun with Boots my hubby talked to the breeder and got us another one! This one is 6 months old. She decided he needed to have a home instead of staying with her and the breeding program so she thought we would be a good match! He is soooooo sweet! He is gorgeous too! Red and white with a full collar and blaze! He is timid right now but Boots is really working to bring him out of his shell! He is Boots half brother. His name is Festus right now but I just dont know if I can bring myself to call such a cutie Festus. The breeder was so sweet to let us have him - she is great. I hope to go see her some more in the future for more corgis! I know you want pictures and I promise i will have them up soon. I just camera issues right now.

I kinda feel bad about changing it cause the breeder seemed proud of it. I just think it sounds more like a rash than a cowboy. Boots LOVES him. He plays with him constantly. I would like to keep with the western theme but at the same time this dog doesnt act like a cowboy he acts more reserved. But I think that is more the situation than the dog.

Name

How exciting, an new little one.

Ask the breeder if she would might mind a name change. Then you won't have any worry.

Thanks.

It would not be an official name change just his call name. I think she would be ok with it since his paper name would not be different.

for a name how about "spur" or "Marshal"? though I think Festus is so unusual that you'll most likely not see another dog with that name

I changed my pup's name when I got her at 7 months - she went from being Felicity to Jemma - the breeder didn't mind at all! I made sure the first few weeks I used her new name as much as possible and now 5 months later she doesn't even look at me if I say her old name!

I like Ranger, or Dusty for a cowboy name myself, pardner!

Tons! They are hilarious! I adore them and Murphee is really coming out of his shell. He is so funny. Boots adores him! So do we by the way! I am trying to crate train him right now. It is tough but he is trying.

Lucky You! A new and fabulous little corgi boy! I think Murphee is super, besides Festus makes me think of George Castanza's dad on Seinfeld, "A festus for the rest of us!"
