Mvons, speaking only from my very limited experience from owning a brindle cardi. He appeared solid black at birth and developed the brindle color as he got older. The breeder originally thought he would be a black and white. He is, though, a very dark brindle today.

Going from left to right, red puppy 1, red puppy 2, brindle puppy, sable (??) puppy (on top of the other & good bum shot ) and the rest of the puppies are brindle.

At: http://www.gocorgi.com/forums/hello-...gan-cadre.html you'll find one of the puppies (not sure where she was in the puppy pile) at 12 weeks.

It does depend on what shade of brindle the puppies are as to how distinguished the brindling is and how pronounced the color pattern is, but with the exception of black brindles, brindling can be seen pretty much at birth. Just as red and white Pem puppies look like they've been dipped in mud at first, and then when puppy coat goes the color clears up, same with Cardigan puppies. The red and white puppies in the Cardigan litter were nice medium reds when they went to their new homes. The possible sable boy, I need to follow up on him and see if he did indeed turn out to be sable.

I see what you mean looking at his gallery photos. The adorable puppy photo with the ears down almost hinted at brindle on those ears but not that body. And when the ears were up he was solid black. Amazing.

Thank you so much. When I came first to Berry's puppy picture I yelled to my son to come look and there was much oooing. If we live a distance from where we get our puppy, we have to get a floppy ear picture. They are so precious.

It is fun to see the colors on such young pups in Millie's photo. What a litter. Thanks again.
