YES!! My wife and I both shouted "CORGI!!!" when we saw that dog! Our mutt has a lot of Cardigan in him and he's wonderful. We love the breed and mixes thereof every bit as much as Pembroke.

The person who wrote that Cardigan Corgis were becoming extinct in Britain and me in mentioning this item and implying that one of the reasons for what is happening in the UK and the substantial difference between Pem numbers and Cardi numbers worldwide, could be that Cardis were generally not as glamorous as Pembrokes, maybe have given the Cardi a whole new burst of life.
The number of Go Corgi members who are suddenly (or otherwise) committing themselves to getting a Cardi as their very next Corgi, is highly commendable and I look forward to a a big influx of Cardi antics and Cardi owners on Go Corgi. I hope it is not just a rush of blood.
The elongated banner I am going to have produced for the Wellington Welsh Corgi Walking Club will feature images of a Pem and a Cardi. So it is straight down the line as far as I am concerned no matter if there were no Cardis left in NZ (and with only two current breeders, it is getting that way).

Are you saying that since you started this Cardi Extinction thread, that this somehow made many of us realize we suddenly find Cardigans more appealing and now want one and didn't notice them before?

I don't think people mentioning their interest in getting a Cardigan in the future has anything to do with the start of or contents of this thread. My interest started long ago, based on the stories, pictures and information given by the Cardigan owners on Go Corgi.

I also don't think that this thread has anything to do with people wanting to get cardis. I have two, and would have them reguardless of what was mentioned here. I really don't think that one thread started by one person is powerful enough to persuade others to get a specific type of dog.

I KNOW you are right, but I'm just a regular gal and, occassionally, even I get sucked in. Don't mess with my cardis

Linda, you're right. I've seen this on other corgi lists I'm on. It's not uncommon for those who own Pems to become intrested in and eventually get a cardigan. It's a bit more rare for things to go the other way however.
It had nothing to do with the post about Cardi numbers being low anywhere. It's been happening all along for many, many years.

Wow, Michael, maybe you should mention that leopards, white rhinos, tigers, cheetahs, etc. are becoming extinct for real and you could save them too!!!! Who knew you had that power!!! Use it for good not evil!!!
Nope it wasn't the stories and photos of Ruby, Ace, Dudley, Maya, Sam, Wicca, Riley, etc. that did it for me at all.
!!! SAVE THE CARDI !!!
(Feeling a little sarcastic tonight)

Yep Jespah we are going to save, save , save. We are going to make a crew of Corgis a gigantic crew of Cardis. A Leopard cannot change its spots but Cardis don't have any so there lies the wind for change. They have almost succeeded in Finland with comparative Cardi numbers to that of Pems at least at registration levels through the Finnish Kennel Club. We just need enough members on Go Corgi to get into the swing of things and there will be an abundant of Cardis to export.
By the way, several days ago a new type of leopard has been officially discovered. photographed and documented.
