It's been difficult at times....she's such a food oriented dog and acts like she's hungry all of the time. It's been real gradual process over quite a long time now. The more weight she's lost, the more active she wants to be, which helps a lot!!

Denaluvcorgis, I totally get wat you are trying to say. Buta gives me "the eye" when I refuses to give her treats I hope I can help Buta to lose the extra weight soon too, we are working towards slimming down now Great motivation Cloey has given us

It is heartwarming to learn of some members who are making a real conscious effort to get the weight of their Corgis under control. Good on you Dena And don't for goodness sake stop at 35 lbs. I'd want to aim for sub 30. Your sentiments that Chloe is more active now and by inference more capable of losing weight and when the ideal is reached, to maintaining that weight, is spot on.
I assure you that my Taylor has many lovely meals and real scrummy treats and he is still only 26 lbs. Tonight I made some pikelets ( something akin to fat pancakes) and he gobbled two of them up. Last edited by Michael Romanos; 03-01-2007 at 02:44 AM. |

Denaluvscorgis:
That kind of weight loss is a real accomplishment. I'm really happy for you. It would be great if all dog owners were like you and some of the other conscientious canine companions at this site. Keep up the good work! Erica |
