My family took in every stray dog there was around and almost never was a purebred among them. My brother just lost a shepherd/mix this spring and that left me room for my lifetime wish for a Corgi. We are keeping to one dog now or maybe two if my brother gets another.

I had a Aussie,
which are great dogs as well. I just didn't want such a big dog this time.

We also have an American Bulldog Medjai at our house, she belongs to my daughter and son-in-law. Medjai and our Pem Maximus are best friend, we think that Medjai feels that she is Max's mom. She and Max play chase and what we call bear attack. Medjai leans the front of her body down on the ground and stares at Max, he does is stalking movement and watches her, when she is ready she will jump up and bark at him and he will run at her and then pounce on her with his front paws and legs spread out like you see bears do. She cleans him and disiplines him when he barks to much by putting his nose and mouth in her mouth and holding it there never biting down. She is very strong and big but she allows him to win when they play tug a war and wrestle. She is very clever, Max always want what Madjai has, so if Max has something that Medjai wants she will go and get a toy out of the toy box and start to play with it, the minute Max see this he wants the toy and she will play keep away with him for a few minutes and then let him have the toy and she will go and get the object that she really wanted in the first place.
Max is very concerned about her when we go to the vet he get upset when she has to leave the room and stares intently at the door until he see her again and then starts to wag is little tail nub. They have a very unique relationship and seem to care deeply for each other.

We have a Sheltie and a toy mixed breed rescue dog. No matter what other breeds are in our house though, there will always be at least one Corgi.

I have had rough collies all my life but for a few years with a pair of rescue West Highland White terriers. Right now, I have two grand puppies, one of which is a rough collie(S&W) and the other a PJRT to spoil...=) much rather be a grandma to puppies at least until the kids are out of college...=)

I've had a spitz, a dashhund, 3 German shepards, and a husky. Thus far the corgi (my present dog) is my favorite. She has the most personality (attitude), and when "I" take her on a walk, she doesn't drag me down the street like the large dogs did. If she gets exhausted, I can always pick her up and carry her the rest of the way, even though I'd rather not, but she's only 22 pounds. I'm trying to adopt a second rescued corgi for company for my 12 year old and hopefully she'll be around for a few more years so they can be a team.
