some corgi ??

We just got our first corgi, he is 1 yearold and he wasnt from a "real" breeder. I'm not even sure what kind of corgie he is he looks to me more like the pictures of Pembroke than the Cardigan. He never had his tail docked and I was wandering if I should have it done when I get him fixed?

It would be cruel to dock a dog's tail at that age. The docking is usually done at three days and doesn't hurt when done so young. He looks like a handsome dog and very like a pembroke.
What is his name and how did you find him?

He looks adorable; would love to hear how you aquired him.

I agree with Jane, I think docking the tail now would be cruel and there is no reason to do it. Enjoy him as he is and congratulations.

He looks like a sweet guy. And handsome too. I vote no on the tail docking too. It will just cause him pain for no reason. Besides . . . isn't he a perfect little man just the way he is?

I would also like to hear his story. And more pics wouldn't hurt either . . .

A friend of mine wanted his dog's tail docked when she was 2 months old and the Vet said "no" it was to painful so I vote no also and welcome to the Board. Would love to hear how you got him. He is beautiful and a tail is definitely an added touch.

glad to have you!

I was told No on docking after the puppy window closes - can cause muscle problems with going to the bathroom!

We have some Pems here that have their tail - some are State/Country regulated not to dock and some like your little Corgi man missed his window through no fault of either of you... I say embrace the tail and the corgi attached!

My Girls are Emma and Chloe - both Pems

I don't think you can even find anyone to dock the tail. No qualified person anyway.
