Izzy goes to the park.

It was way to nice outside to be stuck in the house all day so Izzy and I took a little trip down to the local park. After she got done frapping up a storm I got a chance to take some pics.

Throughout the day Izzy also:
Flushed her first bird (she's a wannabe gundog, although I'm not sure if it counts...it was a pigeon, lol),
Attempted to herd a flock of pigeons,
And *insert drumroll* she recalled off a full tilt pursuit on pigeons. Wahoo!

Overall it was an awesome day (until I had to go home and face Frodo, he was quite upset that he wasn't invited) and there were lots of pigeons :P

Now that is a Taylor-lke smile in every pic. Izzy obviously enjoyed the adventure and wrote it all over her face. What's with the tongue? It's so nice she just had to show it off, show it off, show it off. Taylor does look a little like Izzy which is not a concern even though Taylor is a boy.

What great photos!!! Izzy has such a lovely smile.. Looks like she had a great time..and recalling at a park with such a distraction is awesome!! Dillon doesnt herd birds, he chases them LOL! same with outdoor cats, however my two indoor only cats are both chased and herded depending on the day and Dillon's mood. Gus doesn't herd cats, or birds, he is too busy herding his flock ( me and my husband).

I love that first photo of Izzy, she is very photogenic... pretty girl... so why didn't you bring Frodo? I bet he was pretty jealous! Next time he gets to go and Izzy stays home LOL!

It was actually quite warm and she hasn't blown her coat yet so I imagine she was quite toasty. I did make her rest in the shade and drink quite a bit, but I think it was more for my benefit than hers

Emilie, it sounds like Dillon and Gus really keep you on your toes, and gives the cats a run for their money, lol. My cat is huge and only puts up with so much before he switches into attack mode and chases the dogs around the house

... so why didn't you bring Frodo?

I rotate days between taking Izzy and Frodo to the park, Izzy goes every Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Frodo goes every Tuesday/Thursday, Mollie goes Saturday, Sunday is my day off, lol. I decided to take Izzy down yesterday anyways due to the gorgeous weather. In addition to that, whatever 2 dogs aren't going to the park that day get walks, they sure do keep me busy
Even though Frodo likes the park he is equally content to go on a nice, leisurely, 45 minute walk instead. Izzy one the other hand starts to get destructive if she doesn't get to go to the park for off-leash exploration for more than 2 days. She's very intense and needs a lot of mental stimulation, lounging around the house does not suit her well. We're also getting ready to start agility so we're trying to shed a few pounds and build endurance before that starts.

She *loves* it at the park, it's her version of DisneyWorld with all the birds, mud, and new scents a dog could ask for. She definitaly smiles more there than anywhere else we go, especially the vet lol

One of my favorite parts of her face is how the white stipe looks like a heart at the top, I think it fits her personality pefectly.

I saw my first Robin yesterday morning. We had just come downstairs around 7 am. I saw it out the window and with glee said "it's a Robin!". My two immedaitely started barking their heads off, I took them thru the kitchen and to the BACK door. As soon as I opended the door they tore around the outside of the house to the front yard barking the poor Robin off into the woods!

Fortunately the wild turkeys that are over populating my area, know enough to stay up behind the house a good ways on the opposite side of the electric fence/boundary.

They will start a parade and my two will run across the creek, up into the woods as far as they can go without crossing thier electric fence, and bark their heads off at them. Usually, the parade picks up the pace a bit but they don't seem to be phased by my two terrors.

And yes! I have been warned about wild turkeys having a spike on their feet that could easily put out a Corgi eye. But both respect their turf, dogs don't cross their fenceline and the Turkeys stay a good ways away from them too.

Wahoo! It's official, Springs here because we've had a robin spotting
I don't know what my 2 would do if they saw a turkey, although they think the geese are gigantic squeeky toys, lol.

I just saw those pics-Wow, what a lovely girl!! Just love those big, Corgi brown eyes that would melt a heart of stone.
