YAY! I am going to have a pair!
For the last 2 months I have been working as a foster carer for a rescue group.
I will slightly apprehensive originally, because Douglas, my pembroke, can get overly excited when he meets a new dog... to the point where the visitor would be covered in drool, and running for cover. The fostering process has been great for him. He now doesn't even look when I bring a new dog into the yard, and he is really really enjoying the company. Problem with fostering is there are days, in between fosters, where he has no friend. I work full time, and he is in the backyard with heaps of toys.. but will howl at the gate when I leave on days he is alone. We have been talking about getting another corgi for a while, and I think now is the time. So, I rang his breeder in the off chance that she might have an older dog available for rehoming.. AND SHE DOES!! Not just any pembroke, but a 6 month old ex-show tri-colour girl. We are going to meet her tonight!! So excited. Will post piccies tomorrow. |

Congratulations! I sowre only one dog but I have to say, I love having two. Twice the poo to pick up, twice the hair to vaccum, but twice the love and smoochies when I come home! Fortunately for me, my two get along very well. They play quite rough together but they are two peas in a pod.
I used to be killed by guilt leaving Tucker hom but now w/ Lulu, it is much easier. I know they have each other for company. And I know they do play together during the day. At least they manage to trash their area w/ toys, turn their beds over racing, etc. One day I will do Nannycam!

Congrats Bec - I am a huge fan of the Corgi duo - can't imagine only having one in my life anymore!!! Can't wait to see photos of her - is she a black or red headed tri??? Hope Douglas will be just as thrilled!

Well.. I got her yesterday..
*dance dance dance* She is just lovely. Problem is - she doesn't think she is a corgi. She thinks she is a person. She much prefers to sit on the couch and talk about world affairs.. than doing all that 'yucky' dog stuff with Douglas. I really hope that she takes a bit more notice of him in the next couple days. But.. anyhoo.. oh so cute. Full tailed (as most of the Australians are now). I will have to get a shot of her tail. The tan runs the whole way along the underneath of it and she looks like a big black skunk!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

She's a beauty!!!!!! Don't worry about her getting involved with Douglas, it will come in time - I mean how often do you get a chance to discuss world affairs with new people! That will get old soon and the natural FRAP nature will kick in!!!

Bec!!!!
She is really beautiful! Tucker for the most part is the strong silent type. Lul, although too mouthy, will lay on her back getting a tummy rub and tell me all her problems. I love a talking Corgi. We practice "indoor voice" frequently. Keep the pictures coming!

Thanks Guys. I'm so glad to have her around. She just loves me. I feel as though she is my 'heart' dog. She just wants to sit in my lap and snuggle.
Her name is Georgia. Will let you know how it goes. I am get to see her do any corgi zoomies. I wonder if her zoomy button is broken? |
