I washed Liam

And wow is he white! I don't wash my dogs often. But Mike was complaining that he was stinky. I didn't think so until I said, "he's not stinky", and took a big close whiff of him. He WAS stinky. Just doggy. Anyway I hosed him off and sudsed him off and rinsed him and he frapped around all wet.

He looks so handsome! And he smells so much better. What a fun thing to wash such a small dog. It's so much easier than a Golden Retriever.

My two need a bath. But it is so muddy they will only get covered again.

We were out in the yard playing ball and Lulu had mud splattered all over her white face. Tuck at one point acutally wandered into the creek. That water has to be freezing. He stood in for a moment, took a drink, then out.

We've had some rain and with the snow melt, the creek has been running fast. today it wasn't too bad.

I usually do a bath once a month ( a few days after the frontline top spot application) and i love the way a nice clean dog smells and looks. I have not given the boys their bath yet this month because it has been very very muddy out, so i am waiting until some of the grass dries out a little bit ,and some of the mud from all the melting snow dries out and blows away... shouldnt be too much longer... They have been getting rinsed a bit in the sink when feet are too muddy to just wipe off, or when their undercarriage has gotten really bad... neither boy stinks yet but they are in my bed so i try to keep them clean and fresh .

These corgis are easier to bathe than my cats - I gave my persian a bath about 3 months ago, what a NIGHTMERE! she is 6 1/2 lbs and it took both hands and all my stregth to keep her in the tub and me not clawed head to toe ( now you know why they get bathed about once every 3 yrs LOL! but in this case she really needed it ...badly). I imagine a corgi would be a lot easier to bathe than a larger breed dog..

Mmm, clean dog smell!! I think I remember what that is!! Even though mine got baths 3 weeks ago, the mud has turned Rupes lovely white chest a dingy beige! I'm waiting a few more weeks for mud season to pass!

Enjoy Liam as he is - while you can!!

My Pem, Taylor and me alternates Friday visits to a retirement village with a guy who has two Golden Retirevers. Taylor is always presented clean and groomed whereas the Retrievers are often stinky smelly (at least to us humans with Retrievers having a natural strong smell in contrast to Corgis who are one of the least naturally smelly of all breeds), and ungroomed. So Taylor comes across very well in comparison.

Both Izzy and Frodo *hate* baths, Izzy will stand in the tub giving me pitiful looks and then sulk around the house until she gets a cookie for good behavior

However if given the change they will gladly launch themselves into mudpuddles and go for a dip in the lagoon

Dudley and Maya decided to make a break out the back door a couple of days ago and headed straight for the giant mud/water puddle at the edge of the property. Needless to say, they definitely needed baths after that since they smelled terrible and could not be let back in the house covered in sludge. Luckily, they both are pretty well-mannered bathers and only douse me with water every few minutes

As a groomer, I'm obsessed with *clean dogs* - so Ada gets more baths than most Corgis I think. Her underside always gets wet and muddy - blech!

She also gets her nails done at least once a week and her foot hair trimmed - if I had it my way, she'd have her face cleaned up too! Luckily, her whiskers don't detract from her face like Doberman whiskers do, so it's not too bad having her whiskers intact.

Just gave Jackie a bath this past weekend . . . and there is nothing like a fresh, clean fluffy! Her ruff and belly are white again, and she is SOOOOOO SOOOOFFFFTTTTT . . . . ahhhhhh . . . . I can't keep my hands (or face!) off her!!!!

I usually give my little tomboy a bath every month or 6 weeks, depending on the weather (sometimes it's just not worth it - she goes outside and jumps right in the mud - like I said, she's a tomboy!). She hates it, but tolerates it (with some pitiful looks) as long as she gets treats at the end. I do her feet every week too.

And don't feel bad, Sizzle . . . I am obsessed with clean everything!

My two always get a bath after the dog park. It's really their undersides that need it! We went this weekend; I had to give them both a bath at the dog wash station - they hate it. But as soon as they get home, they run around like crazy and rub all over the carpet (I think they secretly like getting baths).

Jessica - I can't reconcile Jackie's tomboyishness to her Princess attitude...perhaps your dog has a split personality?

That's why Deb coined the nickname "Warrior Princess".
She's an enigma, Miss Fluffypants.
