Digger?
Are your corgis big diggers? Bernie LOVES digging. I had to mulch all my flowerbeds to discourage her from doing it, and now she tries to eat the woodchips.
I wish I had room for a sandbox or something. She does it at the dog park too when she gets hot.

Well, it depends with Duncan. As far as going out and digging in the flower beds and stuff....no. But, let his dad be digging a hole to plant something, he's right there in the middle, helping for all it's worth. That's my husband's fault. He thought it was cute when he was a puppy, Duncan helping him dig, so now it's not as cute when he's in a hurry to get things done. LOL

Oh yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. My chorgi does it every time she gets done pooing. Duncan may have done it once or twice

![]() And Susan - if I had to pick a favorite picture of Tucker (which would be hard because he is so darn cute!!!), I think that might be the one. I just love it!!! ![]() as for the actual topic of this thread . . . Jackie's not a digger, although she does like to scratch at the rug sometimes after a good frap.

Millie has a few types of digging - the rug dig, when rearranging my rugs to make a good bed for her highness to lie upon; the beach dig, done only on the beach to make a cool spot to hide in; and what Fluffypants just called a "victory dance" after pooing. She never did the victory dance until after seeing a neighborhood stray do it *right* in front of her (like it was giving instructions). She picked that up real quick.
But, thank goodness, no lawn digging *yay*! |

Duchess spent most of the afternoon digging after the chipmunks that live under our deck. The exercise will do her good. I took full advantage of her being busy. I was able to rake that side of the yard while she poked and jumped on the plastic pipe that may or may not have contained chipmunks.
She also has the habit of scratching the ground after she pees. But let another dog do the same thing and she gets testy. Last edited by Jane Austen; 03-29-2007 at 05:14 PM. Reason: spelling |

My two do dig. I live in an apartment so they don't get to go out without me - but at my mom's house? Look out! When I visited her at spring break, my mom would frequently look out one of the back windows and see Andy, digging away happily (actually, she does everything happily!
). This would be followed by "Tana, go outside and get your dog!"

She has almost reached China in some spots. Dale doesn't dig yet anyway but you know the old saying Monkey see Monkey do.

Rosie isn't a digger, but does do the backleg thing.
We call it "divoting" as she kicks up great wadges of grass etc when she does it. She reckons she's pretty clever when she does it too - always has this big cheesy grin on her chops. She will even divot on request. Actually, it is quite a handy tool in assessing how her back is at any given stage. If she isn't divoting, or only does tiny ones, it is dead certain that the next day she will be pretty much immobile. |
