Just curious as to why dogs will bite other dogs on the back of the neck. Maybelle does that to Chip and Chip does it to Dale and poor Dale doesn't have anybody to try it out on yet but he is growing.

It's a way of showing dominance. The alpha dog will do that to show who is in control and show a pecking order. Wolves do it also.

Rosie's best doggie friend is a rottie/huntaway cross who is three times as tall as her. But Rosie is the alpha and the rottie actually bends down and puts her neck under Rose's mouth to show submission. Rose does a bit of a grab sometimes, but if she hangs on, she's off her feet....

My two nip each other on the neck, ears, butt, hind legs,...

It's funny to watch Lulu. She'll be strolling along after Tuck and suddenly non chlantly nip him on the butt then race past him as if to say "tag, you it!".
