My two dogs started out in crates then gradually I began letting them sleep on the bed.
Just after the first of the year I started having serious trouble sleeping. I think I woke them up and kept them from getting a good night sleep. Anyway, I decided it was back to the crates. The crates are in my room. Tucker would run right into his crate but Lulu would wait until I lured her into hers with their "night-night" cookie. As of last week she is running into her crate. So it really wasn't hard getting them back to sleeping in their crates. Those of you who have met my darling Lulu know she has quite the bark on her. The first few nights she protested w/ a few sharp yaps but that was it!

So we welcomed our new addition on July 9th. Emmalyn Renee. And K.C. has done great with her. She was a little apprehensive when we first brought the baby home. Acted up a bit, kind of like a jealous sibling, but has since warmed up. She loves kissing the baby, but we're still very careful to watch her closely as you just never know what could happen. The baby seems to like her doggie too. She reaches out to her to touch her when she's close and loves to watch KC move about the room. KC lies down on the floor next to the baby when we're playing with the baby on the floor. So far she's been doing great!

Once a bond has formed, I cannot imagine your Corgi being anything but gentle with your (and her) baby. It's as a toddler and young child that your newcomer might upset the Corgi through teasing or provoking - but by that time ER's love/friendship should be firmly entrenched.
