Hello everyone,
I found a picture of the Queen with some of her Corgis, the tri-color is in the picture. I copied the picture but I am not sure if I am allowed to bring it over to Go-Corgi. (Does anyone know the answer to that?). It is a picture from a news article from "This is London".

To search it: Go to: Yahoo Search, then Search: The Queen and her corgis. A list should appear. The article with the picture is titled "A plaster on the hand-it was the corgis what done it". Apparently she was bitten by one of her corgis as she was trying to break up a fight between two of them. This happened in March, 2007.

The photo of the Queen also shows the New Zealand rugby team so Michael will appreciate that.
That is either Monty or Linnet in the picture- Cindy's Dad was their Dad.

Wow-Can you imagine anyone having had 30 Corgis? I read that article and she didn't seem to much the worse for having been bitten and, as they said, this wasn't the first time. She had been nipped before for breaking up a fight between her Corgis.

Another good read was about EADT - Dogs star in royal film. I want to see this movie!

Laura,

How do you know that is the New Zealand rugby team? I did not see it written in the article.

Is there a story about how you were able to obtain Cindy from such a good line of Pembroke Welsh Corgis? You must be very proud to own a Corgi related to the Queen's Corgis.

Posting any of this kind of thing on Go Corgi is fine.
There is a big over reaction to the Queen been bitten in trying to break up a dog fight. Who hasn't been bitten when they have tried to intervene with this sort of thing going on. It doesn't turn her Corgis into villans or make the Queen and her staff bad owners and handlers. It is just one of those things. It's as common as dirt.
I'll take a look at the site now that a NZ rugby team is involved.
Laura - you're as close to royalty that I have come across for quite a while.

Laura,

I will be looking forward to hearing the story about Cindy.

Now I understand about the rugby team. The Queen is a big fan too.

No, I don't think the Queen is a fan of the New Zealand rugby team- she was just hosting a reception for them on a visit to the UK.

Anyway- how I came to have Cindy: My friend, breeds corgis, not full time but with some success for show dogs. She,of course through dog shows, meets other breeders throughout the UK.
I asked her to find me an older bitch for me to adopt as a companion for Sooty and she spoke to Cindy's very well respected breeders just to ask if they knew of such a corgi for me. To her surprise they suggested Cindy. Surprise as Cindy had been a champion a few years ago and she knew how much her breeders thought of her. In other words it was an honour that they would let me 'adopt' Cindy.
And so Cindy came to me aged 5 and a half, a retired Champion and having had two litters.

I am so grateful to Cindy's breeders for allowing me to have Cindy. She was not an easy dog to begin with and it took a long time to get her used to being a 'house' dog but she is now a delight and a most loving sweetheart. Sooty loves her to bits- but if he could talk I don't think he would admit to it. LOL
I would be honoured to own Cindy anyway even if she wasn't related. She is such a good looking and sweet natured corgi. I am so glad we adopted her

You can tell I do not know much about rugby. I will have to do some research on it, teams, etc.

It is nice to have such a good friend. Very interesting too how everything came into place. It was meant to be for you, Sooty and Cindy.

I know what you mean about being honoured to have such a nice Corgi like Cindy, I feel the same way about Zachary.

Thank you for sharing.
