I don't have a lot of time for British royalty because I am not a royalist and I cant think of what British royalty has to do with New Zealand in this day and age. I am not alone in this matter - a majority of Kiwis think likewise. So I haven't noticed any recent pics of the Queen and her Corgis and Corgi cross.

The Queen has had something like 33 Corgis over the past 50 years or so.

I don't agree with Debbie, I think the Queen has had some exceptional Pem Corgis over the years and some who have been more of the average Pem.

Oh my Michael you sound like the California isolationist, don't care what goes on beyond their home boundaries, don't have time for politics, though don't like the current leader. I can say that being a native Californian. We enjoy royalty because we don't have royalty in the US. Our pom and circumstance is quite different for our President compared to the courtly British Queen. We assume you being British commonwealth member would see more photos of the Queen and her dogs.

Now I'm not all that thrilled about our current President but I don't ignore pictures of him or his wonderful dogs, and I'm not alone in this matter. I also tend to pause and listen to your British Prime Minister because I love his speaking ability, not found in our President.

Merrie

Merrie - one of the greatest insults you can say to me is " your British PM " - but I forgive you. The PM of New Zealand is Helen Clark - NZ born and bred and not Bristish and also not a royalist.
A lot of Americans are enamoured by the British royalty. As you rightly say, thay don't have royalty in the USA - they have film stars.
The British Prime Minister, Blair has done his dash I am afraid - he got too chummy with President Bush and the Bush administration's policies on the Middle East and the war with Iraq. However. I always say that six years is quite enough with a Goverment and a leader - and Blair and Bush are in for the chop - Blair has been pushed out and Bush has reached his max - but both overdid their stay and went past this magic six year stretch. If only dear Helem Clark and her Government had been defeated at the last NZ elections, which was the end of her two three year terms, NZ would be better for it right now.
None of these people have Corgis. That's the British Queen's saving grace and of course it has helped to make her a better person

Not really speaking about even recent photographs. The dorgis have been a part of the royal "pack" since the oops breeding(s) occurred.

I said nothing about her not having exceptional Pembrokes and the lines behind her dogs are well known and respected around the world. My comments were in regards to behaviors, temperaments and personalities which have been reported over the years leading to much of the negative public perception about them.

I think you can take anyone in the world who has had Corgis for 50 years and kept 30 or more of them and there will be some skeletons in the cupboard.
