Great idea. We should be milking the British Queen for all she is worth - bacause at 80 she has only around 20 more years to live ( her mother lived til she was 101) and when she goes you can betcha, the next monarch will not be into Corgis.
Going to have a crew of Corgis at the next Wellington City Christmas Street Parade with someone dressed up as the Queen and performing queenly actions with the Corgis.

Heather, thank you. I'm sure Kentucky would be shocked to get one from my 11yr old son in CA. He'd enjoy coloring it.

A friend called to say two days ago TV morning program covered the Queen's upcoming visit to the States and she was bringing one of her corgis. They showed a picture of the Queen and several corgis, and there was a black and white one closest to her, and she also had a brindle one.
When I did a search on the internet I could not find a photo of her corgis. Sigh

Merrie -neither black and white or brindle are colours for Pems and the British Queen doesn't have Cardis. A black and white Pem must have some tan on the dog otherwise it is a major coat colour fault. I don't thnik the Queen has ever had a Corgi with a serious coat fault.

Yes, I was surprised about the colors too, that is why I wanted to see a picture of her corgis to confirm what the news showed. But I don't understand your comment that black and white are not colors for a Pem. My friend is not knowledgeable of tri-color and it was probably a tri. A brindle to her might have been a sable.
PWCCA website says: Coat and Colors of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Colors
The outer coat is to be of self colors in red, sable, fawn, black and tan, with or without white markings. White is acceptable on legs, chest, neck (either in part or as a collar), muzzle, underparts, and as a narrow blaze on head.
Black headed tricolors
Red and White.

It is interesting - a Pem is not suppose to be just black and white. according to the standard. It must be a tri so there must be tan present. But a Cardi can be black and white only and a lot of them are. We have at least one of these in the Wellington Welsh Corgi Walking Club.

Bi-blacks do not appear in either corgi breed. Pems could be black and tan - no white, but never black and white - there will always be tan on it some where.
The black & white Cardigan in the Walking Club is either a black brindle - they can be very dark and appear to be bi-black OR it is a black and white with very light brindle points.
It is possible sable was confused as being brindle or perhaps it was one of the dorgis. Doxie's do come in brindle.

I very much doubt if the Queen has kept any cross breed.

The Queen does have cross breeds - Dorgies (Dachshund/Corgis).

If it was a tri- colour that was seen, it is probably Cindy's half -brother.I think his name is Monty.
The Queen never liked tri-colours but has changed her mind in recent years.
