puppy twitching

Hi guys, I just picked up Yumi yesterday and she was great yesterday. Today she seems a little whiny. I've been taking her out every hour or so and she pees and poops everytime. Whenever she wonders around the house or when I let her on my couch, she seems a little whiny. She whines and gives a few little barks from time to time. While she was sleeping, she was twitching.. I was worried.. Could it be a seizure? She's been really whiny. When she rests, she moves every 5 minutes to a different spot. Is this normal? Thanks

Twitching in a sleep usually signifies that a dog is dreaming which is perfectly normal. An upset Corgi moving too often as if uncomfortable, and moaning often for no apparant external reason, is something else. Is it her diet? Is she been fed correctly? Is it something internal? If this has been a continuing thing for more than two days, I'd definitely go and get her checked out - and quickly. Better to arrange a vet visit for the next day, and cancel it if a recovery takes place, rather than muck around.

As an additional thought, she could be missing littermates and mum and expressing it in her whining. How old is she? Just eight weeks? You can't forget all the changes and stress she's been thru in the last 24 hours, so a little "freaking out" is pretty "normal."

I agree a wellness check up and being checked out by your vet is a good idea even if she is settling in and down.

I was going to say the poor thing is probably 'freaking out' with all the changes. I was VERY fortunate, mine had been conditioned to be away from mom & litter mates an hour or two a day by crating so, the only time I had any issue was the first week. She would cry at bed time. I would never think of spoiling my dog so I put her crate on my bed next to me for a few days. Once she'd stopped crying in the night (except to go out), I put the crate next to the bed. Now, she's fully potty trained and just sleeps in the bed with me (but that's another story). Told you she's not spoiled..

Now if there is anything else that would cause concern, fever, not eating, runny poo, throwing up or combinations of those, I'd be REALLY worried and take the little one to the vet.

Please let us know how it goes.
