Shippo's Got a Science Project?

I was playing fetch with Shippo inside today, and he did the strangest thing! He stopped at his water bowl halfway back to me and repeatedly dropped the ball around the bowl until he managed to drop it in the water! It's like he wanted to see what would happen... Then after that, he bobbed around for the ball till he got it back out of the bowl and continued bringing the ball back.

It was totally hilarious, and at the same time awfully intelligent (at least to me lol). I just thought I'd share. Sometimes I wonder what goes through his head. >^^;<

Some Corgis are very good at dropping a ball into a water bowl and then fishing it out. It is all part of a game and they can be very creative at making up games. It is a science. After a dozen such episodes you can give Shippo a PHD.

Taylor lately links my puting on slippers as a sign I am going upstairs to the kitchen and therefore he could be in for something to eat or will result in a game/fight. So he talks to me very excitedly in a high pitched voice while physically winding himself up.

Here's a really fun thing you should try:
Put some heavy treats in a water bowl (or container, something with enough space to dunk his head in)
And watch him get them out. (Make sure the treats are either his favourite or really nice and smelly so he would want to get them out). Mind you saying that my corgi eats anything.

It is great fun to watch and cools them down in the summer

All I see of my cardigan, is this massive snout go down in the water like the titanic and promptly come back out again. Great fun.

Sometimes bubbles escape from the snout when she breathes out xD

Cheetah,

I've had a couple that would drop the ball in the water bowl to clean it off during games of fetch. After a few times grass, dirt collects on the saliva and evidently it was too yucky for them, so they'd "wash" it before resuming play.

Pawsies - funny you should mention this. Mazie is so cute to watch when I put ice cubes in her water dish on our deck. She loves to "dive" for them, and when she comes up she shakes her head blowing all of the water out of her nose. She is a hoot!
