thanks everyone, i feel alot better now......as for breeding him, i don't have any "plans" to breed him...i'm leaving him intact for now. i've noticed a slight change in him since he turned about 5-6 months. he's a little more aggressive(nothing serious though), he really likes to wander the yard, and of course he has to visit every tree now ....he's AKC, & came from a good breeder with decent lines..nothing super special but good....he is my first corgi, i was more or less seeing how he would develop(mentally as well as physically)....my parents have always bred dogs & ran a kennel(my father has always specialized in coonhounds and beagles....my mother started off with lhasa's switching later to jack russels and chocolate labs), so of course "some day" i think i'd like to have a pair of "something" to breed occassionally....i haven't settled on a breed yet, i love my odie but i don't know if i could keep up with 2 of them ....who knows

I've been told our Ein is too big for a Corgi. He's 13 inches at the shoulder and between 32-35 lbs usually. We got him from a good breeder who was breeding Corgi's and Aussie Shepherds as farm work dogs (they ran a horse ranch and also kept a herd of sheep). All their dogs were all a little on the big side. Considering the dogs' purpose I don't think being a little taller/larger is that big an issue.

Our vet thinks he's just fine for his size and weight, though. I'm a little more concerned about how big Edward will get. He's 4 1/2 months old now and is considerably smaller than Ein was at that age.

Well, technically, I guess he is, but if you aren't intending to breed him, then it doesn't really matter. As you say, bigger is probably better when working with large animals. Our two corgs have both been somewhat undersized, but for bus travelling, that is ideal - less dog to get under the feet in a confined space.
