Affection
I was wondering if Dogs in general recognize affection outside of just what feels good. Do they know the difference between a kiss or a pet or do they think it is the same?
Miller and Molsen put thier heads in my hand and wait for me to kiss the top of them. In return Miller & Molsen will give me a kiss on the cheek. Or sometimes I will put my arms out for a hug and they will walk inside. Or Molsen if my husband ask "Are you my best friend?", he just comes over and loves on my husband. I would be nice to think that they are not learned responses to specific hand gestures.

Dogs most certainly recognise degrees of affection. They 'kiss' and enjoy being kissed back. They cuddle and enjoy being cuddled. They recognise voice and body and eye gestures. They love their family and like other people they have learnt to trust and who give them affection
