My sister-in-law is coming to visit this weekend and she has a fear of dogs (sort of). Her daughter loves the dogs and can't wait to see them. I was thinking about keeping the boys on their leashes while they are over, so that the SIL does not freak out when the dogs are all over the place and we can control the jumping. Bonus is that the neice can then walk them around the house to prevent play that might result in someone getting hurt. Molsen can be a little nippy if he gets himself over tired. We will maintain supervision of the dogs during their visit and will put them upstairs if they get too flustered (the dogs not the visiters!
). Do you have any other ideas?

Sounds like a good game plan to me. Can you tell the sister in law this is what you are doing ahead of time, so that it might make her less worried to begin with?

In my opinion, a lot of people who say that they are fearful of ALL dogs, are exaggerating their situation because it seems to fulfull some kind of self-satisfying demand. I once sold a Corgi puppy to a young married couple who had at least one child. The wife said she was dead scared of a dog's bark and absolutely cringed when my adult Corgi barked. Would the Corgi pup bark, she asked in terror. Well of course the Corgi did eventually find his voice. Anyway the poor Corgi had a tragic car accident and the most cut up, devastated member of the family was the wife. A friend of mine had two dogs bite her when on a mail delivery and said she was very frightened of all dogs from that point onwards. But I have seen her secretly stroking Taylor.

The visit went well. By the end of the visit Miller and my sister-in-law were hanging out on the couch together. Molsen had to have a few time outs to recompose himself. He got so excited with the 4 yr old niece wanting to play so much, he forgot his manners. Outside of that everyone left with their all of their fingers and toes and no injuries (from the dogs atleast)

Once in a while in rugby, a maddened player (male only of course) will bite another - usually an ear or a finger. Can't do that in Gridiron because of the helmut.
