I can tell you this. There are no cute costumes ie presentation, celebration, parade-type costumes for dogs in New Zealand - either imported or made here. They are all these practicle type clothes for cold weather and wet weather etc. So I thought up an idea and brought some fabulous material and employed a dressmaker to make Taylor's outfit - a cloak and a matching bow tie. Have to have a hat made but so far can't find anyone to do it. It needs to be a kind of top hat that fits in the middle part of his head and thus avoiding the ears and needs to be secured frontways and backways.

There are several great websites with costumes. Fosters has a couple costumes on their website. I think I am going to buy Molsen the Chicken Costume and Miller the spider costume. Currently Miller has a lion, dragon, lobster, soda jerk, and a pimp costume. Molsen has a fireman, bat, rugby, harry potter, and bee costume. After Halloween, I buy them from the costume shops or pet smart. Oh, and they have their Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys.
I think I put some of their pictures on the website ... Molsen as a bat and Miller as a dragon. As you can tell, I have no kids other than Molsen & Miller.

I bought a small size fairy saddle costume that was being auctioned to benefit Corgiaid. It doesn't fit any of my corgi's, but was for a good cause. I have it on the bottom of Chloe's Dogster page if you want to see what it looks like. It was made up of some scrap fabric and such that the person had lying around. It is quite pretty. You can make one up and figure out how to keep a Barbie doll on it, dressed like a fairy, that would be cute, and fit the story of the corgis

No, Chloe was a rescue. She is part corgi and part chow. Her body and color is that of a sable corgi, but she has the chow face and quite a bit of it's personality. She can be very aloof and stays off to herself quite a bit. She is a great watchdog, and very, very protective of her yard and the neighbors yard.
We're never sure how she will take to people walking into the yard, so we are always with her when someone comes over. All we have to do is tell her it's okay, their allowed and after a quick sniff, she lets them be. She doesn't like people in uniforms at all. It might be where we got her from. They dealt with drugs and in fact, there was a shooting on their property and someone was killed, that's how she came to looking for a home. Both of the people thought that they were going to go to prison and were looking for a good home. A woman I worked with told me about Chloe; her son had one of the pups from a litter she had. They did take very good care of her, I must say. They were very diligent on her shots and vet care. Since all of this, the woman just got probation, and asked my co-worker about getting Chloe back. She was informed that she had a good home, (she never was told where we live, so she won't come looking) and to leave her there. Besides, they would have to fight my husband for his "baby girl" LOL

There are some cute (and reasonable) ones on Wiggle-n-Waggle.com Home Page (and how appropriate for corgis) I an not sure of what size is best though. I might try the fairy saddle idea...I was thinking about it, but unsure of how to construct it. Looks easy enough (she says unknowingly)

I think the fairy costume is adorable also, Kassie. I just wish my corgis weren't so big for it. Duncan is a large male, and Chloe is about his size also. I'm looking around to see if there is someone in GoCorgi that would be interested in it or on Dogster. I would take the money and donate it back to Corgiaid again. It would fit a 25-28 pound corgi fine I think.

I have used a couple of toddler costumes for Miller. He is a slinky Corgi, so he fits into the people sizes. Poor Molsen would probably have to wear a husky toddler costume!

I just purchased a new costume for Miller from Target. It is an Astronaut costume. It had a picture of a Corgi on the front of it, so I thought it would fit ... But Miller was just a bit too long. He really liked the costume though until the back legs got unvelcroed and became more like wings.
I will have to figure out how to make the costume fit with small modifications. Hopefully Miller can be an Astronaut this halloween!
