This is a discussion on Sneezing within the General Corgi Discussions forums, part of the General category; I've recently become aware that when My Cardi, Snowdon gets on his back, he sneezes, nothing profuse, perhaps once ...

Most Corgis will sneeze at some stage, while on their backs. Some will do it a lot and others only occasionally. My immediate last Corgi, Hadlee sneezed often whilst on his back and Taylor sneezes infrequently while in that position. But the thing is they both did/do it. Hadlee and I use to play games involving sneezing. I would sneeze and he would copy me. I could sneeze, tell him its his turn and he would copy and back and forward we would go - and this wasn't when he was on his back.I got the idea of copy cat sneezing from other Corgis I had earlier. But it is not a game that Taylor plays. He's too cool for that caper.
THere has got to be a reason for Corgis sneezing while in a lying position on their backs - something to do with air flow and nasal tickling. Dogs can sneeze for the usual reasons us humans do apart from the fact that they do not suffer from the common cold. BUt dog sneezing can be a sign of a viral infection. foreign bodies, allergies and even tumours. A dog can sneeze because of dust and mites. |
