Smile Coops 1st visit to the vet

Yesterday afternoon was Coopers first trip to the vet since I've had him.. and let me tell you, I can't be any more proud of this boy.

He was so well behaved! There were so many dogs in there (busy I guess) and he was such a good boy. THe most he did was bark at them and grumble but after telling him to relax and stop the barking, he stopped and just stared at all the dogs. He sat right next to me and just hung out while I was trying to pay for the bill.

He had 2 shots which he didn't even notice they were giving to him.. and then a wormer which he wanted more of.. and then something that I can't remember at the moment that was put in through his nose. Didn't care either! What a dream!!

Coop at 14wks weighs a whopping 14lbs! Is that about average for a Cardi boy? He's a pretty big boy.

His paws are giant.. they're already larger than Hemi's.

Also talked to the vet about my concern with his dew claw on his back right foot. The breeder had not removed it b/c his mom had a c section and the pups weren't doing too great at first so she didnt' bother with risking anything with removing a single dew claw. But I guess b/c it's loose and not really attached to anything it'll be easy to remove! yay!

The vet and everywhere who was working there absolutely adored Coop. He was so well behaved I was so happy! He reminds me so much of my 1st Siberian. I couldn't be any happier!! Pretty sure I was beaming!

Hemi also is scheduled to get neutered on the 1st.. he is going to be sooo mad at us when he has that cone on his head.. hahaha poor boy.

Welp! That is all! Just wanted to share our adventures!

I can't wait until the Meet up this weekend! Should be a great time!!

We are so looking forward to seeing Hemi and Cooper. So far the weather forcast sounds good. There is a possibility that Firstrax may bring Radar. though the last thing was they didn't think they could make it, if we all shout real loud maybe we can convince them to come. 1....2....3

A friend of mine had his dog's dewclaws removed and it was very painful on the dog. You may want to discuss that with your vet if you are considering having this done.

Hi Bonnie

I had discussed it with the vet. She said it wouldn't be a problem for Cooper as that claw isn't attached. It's just held on basically by skin. His front dew claws on the other hand are attached to his paw and are like literal toes basically. But not in a weird freaky way. He does have huge paws though.

I was worried about the removal of the claw as I was concerned that it may cause pain on him because I've never had them removed before.. nor had a dog with a claw on the hind foot. but I guess because it's detached and only attached via skin it shouldn't be a problem at all. i was thinking to get it done asap so it'll be less painful maybe..?

Great for Cooper being such a Good Boy!

Charlie was really good at the vet too. Except at one point, he just took off and ran right off the exam table. Fortunately, the vet's assistant was very quick and literally caught Charlie about 3 inches before he would have hit the floor head first. I said, "Good catch." Silly dog.

Hi Tiffany

That is great that it isn't attached so it shouldn't be too much to snip it and stitch it. LOL Getting it done sooner is a great idea too.
